SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Star Zendaya Hopes To Play A "Supervillain" In Future Project

Spider-Man: No Way Home and Dune star Zendaya has shared her hopes to one day play a supervillain in a future project, though we wouldn't necessarily expect this to mean MJ will turn to the dark side...

Zendaya was already a star before joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but as MJ, the model and actress has established herself as a Hollywood A-Lister.

Having now appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, we're expecting to see more of MJ when Spider-Man 4 is eventually released. Sure, she no longer remembers Peter Parker but they'll almost inevitably be reunited somewhere down the line.

Zendaya will next be seen as one of Dune: Part Two's protagonists, Chani, and in a recent interview, the actress shared her hopes to one day take on a villainous role.

"I would love to play a villain of sorts," she says in the video below. "Tap into that evil, supervillain vibe. Whatever that manifests in, I don't think necessarily in a superhero sense but in an emotional sense. I feel like I usually play the good guy, so I'd like to play the bad guy."

"[I want to] direct one day," Zendaya added. "To direct a film, hopefully more than just one, but just doing it. The first step to actually doing something yourself is not an easy step to take, so hopefully I can get over the fear."

As Zendaya points out, she isn't necessarily talking about playing a comic book baddie above but her use of the word "supervillain" is bound to lead to all manner of suggestions about who the Spider-Man star could play in a future Marvel or DC project!

When it comes to MJ, however, we don't anticipate her breaking bad any time soon. There's every chance the character could suit up as Jackpot (that would be a very Sony thing to do) but time will tell on that front.

Check out the full interview with Zendaya in the video below.

Zendaya managed to beat Jodie Comer in one of the most acclaimed performances in TV history at the Emmys twice.

If that doesn't show how much damn talent she has, I don't know what will.
