TASM was great in its own merits. It was a reboot worth watching despite like everyone would agree, a very predictable movie ( especially when Parker revealed himself to Stacy who he was), but to me I can't help thinking that Raimi's Spiderman 1 was still slightly better than this. Why?? I will be sharing my thoughts on why I think Raimi's first spiderman is still better.

Garfield was great as parker no doubt, he brings new charm and wits to the character. The retelling of the origin is really predictable but very well stated. The thing is, Parker never really struggled for love compared to Raimi's. He gets the girl here and for most part of the movie, you can very much assured that parker and gwen will likely be lovers. On raimi's spiderman, we can really feel how he struggled for it. And the end scene was really a heartbreak when parker decides he can't be with mary jane.

The original Spidey was a friendly movie, thanks to maguire's high school look. Also, a lot of supporting casts which I think made the movie much more interesting. There is parker's bestfriend, the daily bugle, and parkers aunt which really had a big impact on the movie. TASM only focuses on Parker's character, never really had a problem with the girl like I mentioned above. Its great because Garfield was awesome and the emotions was there but outside of parker/garfields character, its just flat. Emma was charming and yes very supportive here but other than that nothing works besides the fact that the action sequences are slightly better. The cgi for lizard is nothing short of those anacondas sequel ( JLO's anaconda was way better than this ).

And not to mention, we never get to see much spiderman at day. he usually comes here at night.

Overall the movie was great, as I said The original only a slight better. Raimi's Spiderman is a package one. :)

Spiderman : 9.2
TASM : 9.0

Is this an official review? This sites credibility is being tampered with by a person who can't type out a damn paragraph.

TASM is great movie...IMO way better than anything Raimi did.

Good article, though I disagree in some areas. TASM was excellent. It surely brought a different amount of emotion that made it unique. I enjoyed both interpretations but TASM definitely felt more real. Both had love stories but I feel that TASM told Peter and Gwen's love story way better. I think they had better chemistry. IMO, Mary Jane was nothing more than a useless damsel in distress. I felt for Pete in the original films, though it's easier to relate to Parker in TASM. A significant improvement from the other films.
