SPIDER-MAN 2: Hot Toys Action Figure Reveals Our Best Look Yet At Peter Parker's New Black Suit

Spider-Man 2 looks set to be a game-changer (no pun intended) for how the web-slinger is portrayed in video games, with players given the opportunity to unleash the Venom Symbiote while swinging into action as Peter Parker.

Like in the comic books, Peter will eventually lose the suit and Venom will follow. Tony Todd is going to lend his voice to the villain from that point on, though we still don't know for sure whether it's Harry Osborn, Eddie Brock, or someone else entirely decked out in the alien costume.

We'll have to wait and see, but in the meantime, our best look yet at Spider-Man's new black suit has been revealed courtesy of Hot Toys (via GameFragger.com).

"This solid black suit enhances Peter’s power with unique abilities," reads the official product description, "but at the same time, it has a clear physiological effect on Peter, altering his look, making him more aggressive, even against his friends like Miles."

The 1/6th scale figure comes with a newly crafted masked head, a specialized body, articulated pincers with black tendrils, an array of accessories including a black web shooter with newly designed black webbing accessories, web wings, a tentacle effect, matching interchangeable hands, and a display base.

Selected markets will also sell a Special Edition that's a) awesome and, b) confirms Peter is still wearing his classic red and blue suit beneath the alien costume.

The synopsis for the game reads, "Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, return for an exciting new adventure in the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise."

"Swing, jump and utilise the new Web Wings to travel across Marvel’s New York, quickly switching between Peter Parker and Miles Morales to experience different stories and epic new powers, as the iconic villain Venom threatens to destroy their lives, their city and the ones they love."

Spider-Man 2 swings into stores on October 20.

I don’t love it, ngl

Not sure what these adaptations have against the sleekness of the original

@PlusUltra - "Sleekness" never translates into the real world. That's why every suit adaptation whether it's Superman, Batman, Cap, etc. always has either lines, or small textures to make it stand out.

Your picture example is literally just a latex suit. That's why cosplay outfits look funny.

@PlusUltra - It would be a bad look for Insomniac to make a suit that had literally zero textures, especially when we just entered a new gen of consoles where graphical details, particles, and textures are a big selling point.

Wow, seeing the symbiote Spider-Man with the Iron Spider leags, is really [frick]ing weird!

I like their interpretation of the symbiote suit but still think Peter's character model is terrible along with his white emblem regular suit.

I like it ! I appreciate that they kept the white on the back of his hands, albeit in a different design. Their Venom doesn't seem to have that in the last trailer and somehow, that rubbed me the wrong way.

That’s sick. Small nitpick but I wish he had the “webs” coming out of the white patch on the top of his hands like the 90’s cartoon version

@Ha1frican - that would be awesome

@Ha1frican - I was looking for that in the gameplay demo, but you can never really make it out. I'm pretty sure he did it that way in the comics too, and Insomniac have been pretty good on these details, like the iron spider legs that appear all gold when you wear the comics Iron Spider skin, so here's hoping they got that right.

@OrgasmicPotatoe - I dont even think this version even uses webbing though. It's just tendrils. So it doesnt necessarily have to come out from the top of his hand or anywhere anymore since it's part of the symbiote.

Damn that looks perfect. But atm my feeling is skip this game. The gameplay trailer gave me a bad vibe.

I never thought this suit would translate all that well, but Insomniac did a fine job. It could've ended up just looking like a black, latex suit, but they designed to almost look like the skin of an Alien Xenomorph. It's an amazing job.

The articulated pincers almost seemed as if he was using Doc Ock's tentacles as battle trophies. It looks good with that said.

@NinnesMBC - Well I believe he did help design them so it kinda makes sense

@Ha1frican - That's actually a good point, I had forgotten about it. So yes it would make sense.

Feels like it was inspired a bit by H.R. Giger, specifically the Xenomorph. This is the first time I've seen the black suit pull from those designs, which is surprising.
