Kevin Feige Addresses Chances Of SPIDER-MAN Spinoffs And SPIDER-GWEN

Before Marvel and Sony made the deal to bring Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a number of Amazing Spider-Man spinoffs were in the works, including Venom and Sinister Six.

Drew Goddard has been talking a lot about Sinister Six lately, but based on comments from Kevin Feige in a recent interview with MTV News, he should probably give up hope that it's ever going to happen (in the near future at least). Asked if there are any plans to expand the Spider-Man corner of the MCU which will be introduced in Captain America: Civil War next year and then his own solo outing in 2017, he replied: "Well, there could be [spin-offs]. But the truth is, our job right now is that single Spider-Man movie based in the MCU. And that’s where all our focus is." Talk then turned to fan-favourite character Spider-Gwen, and after both Feige and producer Jeremy Latcham praised the relatively new hero, but the former would only say this when asked about the possibility of bringing her into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "I think Spider-Gwen in the comics is cool." What do you think? Would you like to see a Spider-Gwen movie? Let us know below!

No...no Spider-Gwen. Unless it's Emma Stone. I wouldn't mind seeing her sexy ass reincarnated.

Why the [frick] isn't any reporter asking Feige about the details of the Sony/Marvel deal? Is it ONLY about that one Spidey solo movie, and that's it? Can the two studios keep collaborating for spin-offs and sequels set in the MCU? Does Marvel actually have the final say in all major decisions? Is there a deadline for when Spider-Man movies have to come out for this deal to remain intact?

I mean, come on. We still barely know a thing about this deal, and it doesn't seem like anybody is interested in asking about it.

Although a cool idea, I have to agree that I can't see Spider-Gwen ever working in the foreseeable cinematic future.

I'd like I see an eccentric Spider Man universe in it's own right with crazy spin offs and larger than life sequels and team ups. Just like the comics, especially with Peter being in High School.

I'm just hoping Elle Fanning is Gwen (potential Spider Gwen)

No, although I love too see as much Elle Fanning as possible.

It would be great to see a Spider-Gwen movie I like the comic. And my choice for Spider-Gwen would be Bryce Dallas Howard.

1. I'd love some spin-offs since Spider-Man has the most expansive library of characters than any other Marvel hero
2. No Spider-Gwen, especially when it's highly doubtful they'll even use Gwen this close to Amazing 1&2.
3. We know that Marvel make the movies but Sony has final say, meaning they can edit whatever they want.
4. Sony has already said they have plans for spin-offs with the new reboot (yeah I know they're a whole lot of talk) and the benefit for them is they don't have to go to Marvel to make them (see the animated Spider-Man movie).

Let's try and focus on nailing Peter Parker first before you move to Spider-Gwen.

I was watching Spectacular Spider-Man last night and I was on the episode where Peter is fighting for control with the Venom symbiote. If we can get something similar to the kinda "flashback" kinda not scenes in one of the future Spider-Man movies (you know they have more than one planned) I will be a happy Walken.

Can't say I'm a fan. Seems kind of corny.

Spider Gwen doesn't need a movie in fact I'm not even sure if she should be Peters love interst in the mcu because it would just retread old ground. And I pray to the based god that a sinister six movie doesn't get made, if any marvel super villain team should get a movie it had better be the thunderbolts

I can see maybe not in the second, but in the third solo movie a Spider-verse movie. Or maybe not, I don't know.

@fettastic everyone knows spidey sperm gives you cancer not powers.

she is from an alternate universe where Gwen got bitten by the spider and Peter Parker tragically died. Essentially a gender flip of the 616 timeline.

Hell no to Spider-Gwen. I like the character but hate the name.

Get SM rght first, then Venom. After that we can talk about extending the universe.

The Spider-man micro universe, if you will, is immensly rich and fun. I think it sucks that it's all being sacrificed in order for him to exchange one-liners with Iron Man.

It's just not worth it. I hope I'm wrong as hell tho.

Btw, has anyone picked up on the turquoise tones in Gwen's Spider-suit possibly paying homage to the color of the coat she was wearing when Norman killed her in the "main" universe?

I think that's tragic and heartwarming as [frick].
