As I looked today at the image of Harry Osborn from the leaked ASM2 poster, I seemed to realize something: He doesn't really look like the Goblin we all know and love, right?

Well, I thought of something: Norman Osborn will be "sick" the entire movie (possibly) right? and Harry is apparently the Goblin?

Here's my theory:

In the end of ASM2, (I'm assuming Electro is placed in prison along with Rhino before this scene) The (possibly dying because he's been wounded in battle) Goblin Harry will go to his father and inject him with the serum he took, making his father "better". Norman begins to become healthy, but instead it takes a wrong turn and he's transformed into the Green Goblin. This is the green goblin who looks like how he did in the comics, only the face is not a mask, Norman is forever a mutant with green skin and pointed ears (basically the costume from the comics is his actual body, only much more frightening.)

Norman will kill his son (due to being insane from the serum) and steal the glider and suit, along with some sort of mask or headgear.

This leads to one thing: The climax.

In the climax, Norman goes and finds Gwen Stacy and ends up killing her to taunt and piss off Peter Parker.

Peter and Norman duel in the sky and through the streets of New York City

Peter and Norman trade blows and pumpkin bombs until Norman is wounded just enough (possibly by his own glider) to retreat, leaving Peter with Gwen's dead body.

He mourns and is forced to deal with the fact that he "let her die" and has broken his vow to Captain Stacy to keep her safe.

In the final scene of the movie/mid credits scene, Norman will break into the prison and free Electro and Rhino, all of them vowing to destroy Spider Man together...thus making the beginning of the Sinister Six.

Tell me what you guys think.

Wasn't harry supposed to become ultimate goblin in this film?

But before anything else happens, we should congratulate Nova on landing the role!

All I know is the goblin in that picture looks completely ridiculous.

You know what would be AWESOME?!

If Andrew Garfield was the Goblin in that poster. It does look a little like him, no?

And what if he played the Chameleon AS WELL? Suppose we never find out what the character looks like without his disguises, and he's just posing as different people.

What if neither Harry NOR Norman are the Osborns flying around on the glider, but the Chameleon is trying to sabotage Oscorp?

I'm throwing you guys gold here.
(I should also keep away from the gin)

On a serious note, I think they should shift the third movie COMPLETELY away from the formula they've been following, and arrange the perspective so that the villains are the "protagonists".

And Doc Ock should be leading them. His tentacles DO appear in the trailer (along with Vulture's wings).

Not a fan of R.H.I.N.O. and any Green Goblin being part of the Sinister Six, but if they must, I guess I'll live.

If that happened, I would kneel before Sony.

for some reason Webb makes the villains with funny faces. Lizard looked funny, and now Green Goblin and Electro seems to be having the same treatment.

Too much Goblin in this, we wont see the Spidey & the goblin until Part 3. Well only get a tease of him thru Harry in this one

I agree that Norman will be cgi but he'll be The Ultimate Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-man 3. I'm pretty sure the only Goblin in this film will be Harry.

@Ironasgardian, do you think there will be a reference to Lizard? Do you see Lizard joining the Sinister Six? Perhaps as a reluctant member forced to join by Osborne, who ultimately redeems himself by helping Spiderman.

Wait, can Peter still be the killer of Gwen, by attempting to save her, resulting in her neck snapping. Also I would like the sinister six to be comprised of; lizard, green goblin/hobgoblin, rhino, electro, Kraven the hunter, Volture, Mysterio, and/or Doctor Octopus. pick 6 from these 9, and only one goblin to make their sinister 6.

It's so good to see the Green Goblin in a movie! We haven't seen him before! Thank you Sony!

Now seriously, they rebooted it only 5 years later, can't they at least give us new villains? Vulture and a proper Venom for example? Spider-Man has a lot of great villains, there is no point into showing us the same over and over again.

THEORY:

The whole thing about Norman being sick is a set-up for a story paralleling Peter's story:

Norman will definitely be using his son, i.e. experimenting on him, as a means of finding a cure for his own disease. This turns Harry into what we see in the poster.

This is in parallel with Peter's story, which, according to what was set up in the first film, seems to involve some sort of experiment done to him by his father.

So you're theory is following the end of the film, you'll get the climax? Strange.

I'm reckoning you won't see ANY Goblin until the closing minutes. With Rhino & Electro already in the fray, any more villains and you'll end up with the old "two many cooks..." syndrome.

Guys, maybe it´s not Harry or Norman after all...
I mean in Spider-Man stories Peter Parker was in Doc Ock body, or Gwen Stacy was cloned.

It can´t be Harry hair. Harry hair is too thin and hairs front of eyes are too long to put hair up.
Franshu
Franshu - 12/3/2013, 8:09 AM
Nah, not enough time in the film for that. Too many subplots already.

FreedomFreeLife - 12/3/2013, 8:17 AM
Wait... When we see Green Goblin then he cant just kill Gwen!!! It needs reasons first, and needs another 30 min before he kills her. Having 3 Electro fight, 2 rhino fight and Green Goblin this means movie needs to be like 5hr long but movie is only 2hr long. Also, TASM was 2hr and 30 min long and it had 1 villain and movie was rushed. NO WAY THEY KILL GWEN

.."Oscorp is watchin´u " , i think thats the tagline for the upcomming TASM films!

Think of it...they won´t be so stupid to let the Story untouched from the first Film.

For some reasons Oscorp and (i guess) Norman himself was lettin Peter Parker´s Dad and Curt Conners work on the Interspecies Genetic Formular for all these years (and tryed to keep it top secret)...

I think he would use it like Dr.Connors (to fill or regain, his Body with new power and gain some "health" or something like that..)

After Oscorp did some experiments with genetic spiders, they might know Spiderman has something to do with their "work".
Well Harry is Pete´s best fried an Normans son..he would do easy to uncover Spidermans identity.

Norman see´s how perfekt Parker reacts with the genetic spiders dna..and they want to use it to cure Norman.

I think/hope the "cure" will be an mix between Connors formula and Peters dna...while doing some "tests" they will unwanted create a (not THE)goblin..a kinda "clone" of Peter(for some reasons the Goblin leaked pic..looks more like Andrew Garfield then DeHaan)..

After they rebuild the formula (in the end of this movie) it seams to be perfekt to cure N.Osborn..but tadaaaa endcredit ..**greenisch evil lizardface pached chris cooper looks into the camera!***

I agree with the most of u that the Sinister Six will apear in the future films but not in this one..cause..Norman cant form a "team" when the other members are not "build" yet...no Doc Ock or Vulture yet (even when they seems to be teased in the trailer).

Electro might be the main Villian...but no clue how it all fits togehter with the Osborns ;)

..but what i really want in this movie is that they will uncover more from Peters Parents, and why the mysteriuos person in the and of TASM1 dont wanted to Connors tell Petar anything about it !

....but that are just my thoughts on what could happen.

cheerio ;)

that a long mid credits scene. maybe save half of it for the end of ASM2 (as in before the mid creds) and end it half way through or all the way thru asm3

@TheDarkPhoenix

Hmm ... the original trilogy was: Green Goblin/New Goblin, Dr. Octopus, Sandman, and Venom.

The new trilogy thus far: Lizard, Rhino, Electro, Green Goblin.

So far, I see three new villains. And yet, in your complaint that there aren't new villains because they are repeating Green Goblin, you ask for Venom, a repeat himself.
