Here's part of the interview where Sam Raimi hints about Bruce Campbell's return to the franchise:

Raimi: “For the first time in his life Bruce is an in-demand actor – at age 50”, laughs Raimi, who also worked on the actor on such films as “Spider-Man” and “The Quick and the Dead”. “He’s on a show called Burn Notice – which is really funny, and he’s great in it – and the week that I wanted to use him, he was busy doing that, so I couldn’t. He was just too in-demand, but we will try and get him in the next – probably Spider-Man 4, I’ll find a part for him.”

Moviehole: “Spider-Man 4” you say, Sam?

I think he'll return as Mephisto, but then again he could return just to make a cameo since Raimi tends to put him in almost all of his movies.

this isnt news hes been saying this since spiderman 4 was announced, i saw him live at a show and he said he doesnt know if he will be back but he would love to.

PS see him live was awesome hes hecka funny and nice

They would be wise to bring back the man with the golden chin! He never hurt the franchise. He just made it a little better in his own way.

He's the only actor I really care about keeping in the franchise! He's a legend! Evil Dead movies are awesome! And I can play the training level on the 1st Spiderman movie game over and over just for his commentary!

if this dude aint in it...then just make sure she screenplay has no reference or anything to do with his character. i would hate to see them replace him or reference him by a actor holding a picture of him or something gay.

Spidey 4 is another i cant wait for. Hopefully Raimi doesnt destroy this like he did Spidey 3. Spidey 1 and 2 were geat though.....bring the Lizard on already

MEPHISTO ISNT A BAD IDEA..IT WOULD EXPLAIN WHY HE MEETS PARKER BUT AS A DIFFERENT PERSON ALL THE TIME, LIKE HE WANTS TO SEE HIS AN MJ'S LOVE DIE..NOTICE HOW HE'S ALWAYS AT KEY MOMENTS IN PARKERS RELATIONSHIP? BEING THERE FOR MJ AT THE SHOW (HE WOULDNT LET HIM IN), A WAITER IN A RESTURAUNT HELPING HIM SET UP A PROPOSAL(THAT WENT BAD) MAYBE HE WANTED TO RELISH THAT PAIN HE FELT..THAT COULD MIRROR THE STORY ARC IN THE COMICS...

I love Cambell, i really hope hes back in some form. I hate Mysterio though, i don't care how many magic tricks he does he has a fish bowl for a head! There's no getting past that.

WulfComicFan why the Raimi hate? Dudes a legend! So Spidey 3 was lacking, what about the first 2? A Simple Plan? Drag Me To Hell? Evil Dead? Quick And The Dead? Darkman?

Just thought I'd mention this to those that think Raimi destroyed Spider-Man 3 and let them know that he didn't, go here & read this.

For the 4th movie, I wouldn't mind seeing two bad guys but three is way too much. For the movie I'd primarily want to see one, I'm hoping Lizard, and for the last third or fourth of the movie bring in the second one that can go on to the 5th movie.

@ Ror, he so butchered my second favorite book series, that I have lost ALL respect I had for him, and yes I do love Evil dead series, haven't seen Drag Me To Hell yet, but i plan to, Darkman was cool, but Quick & the Dead was a little cheesy (not a good chessy) for my taste. But the series he f@#*ed was The Legend of the Seeker, based on Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series.

They wre originally gonna let Terry Goodkind stay on and help with it, then they kicked him out, and raped it.

@Krypto I didn't mean that he is the one who killed Spidey 3, but the movie still blew. But I am glad to see he was a man and didn't point fingers too much in the failing of that movie. So i guess he earned a little o' my respect back, but I still feel crapped upon about The Legend of the Seeker.

Mystero is kinda lame and could not hold up a movie as a main villain, maybe he could cameo and Bruce could play him, that way because then everyone wins.

also anyone that thinks Raimi is a hack only thinks so because of spidey 3 and knows nothing else about the director, I have never seen a movie by him that I didn't like

Yeah go Bruce I own like tweleve of his movies! I would like to see him annoy Spiderman or inconvience him in some way because that's what he did in the past three and it got better with each movie. Heck I say that the part with Bruce is the best part of Spiderman 3. I don't know if I would like to see him as Mysterio, I defenatly want him to be like a side character (like Robbie). Maybe he could play like a new editor for the Daily Bugle and pick on Peter allot.
