THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 Would Have Ripped Off FUTURAMA

After killing off Norman Osborn foolishly in TASM2, Chris Cooper revealed that in a third film; Norman's character would expand while at the same time being just a head in a box which makes no sense. Click this now.

I think we all can agree that it's good The Aborted Spider-Man series died after 2 films. They were 2 terrible films starring an unlikable hero, a Mary Sue love interest, Aunt May wanting eggs, Uncle Ben dying because Peter was 2 cents short on milk money, Dog the Bounty Hunter killing Uncle Ben after learning Uncle Ben missed his court dates because he was involved in human trafficking, the writers recycling the Khan blood stuff from Star Trek Into Darkness and giving it to Spider-Man which makes no sense, and villains even more undeveloped and forgettable then MCU films. While it's unknown if Marvel Studios will do Spider-Man justice because Sony is still involved in the franchise, movies starring Spider-Man are probably in better hands then they were with Avi Arad but not as good hands as Sam Raimi. Beggers can't be choosers. Recently Chris Cooper spoke on his brief role as Norman Osborn who I think was in The Aborted Spider-Man 2. Don't remember. Saying that Norman's character would expand in a third film but at the same time be a head in a box like a Futurama character.

"I dare say if this 'Spider-Man' franchise had carried on, I was guaranteed a huge role in '[Amazing] Spider-Man 3.' That character was going to expand." Cooper revealed that Osborn would be revealed as a "head in a box" in the post-credits scene and confirmed it was shot. "Well, we shot the scene -- it's so weird -- but it didn't make it into 'Spider-Man 2,'" said Cooper. "I'm sure it would probably have been one of the opening scenes in 'Spider-Man 3' if they had gone ahead. But he was coming back. It's very bizarre, what they came up with."

Bizarre is probably the best word to give an adjective to TASM series in how bizarre a studio could mess up Spider-Man, Norman Osborn, and the death of Gwen Stacy. What are your thoughts? Would you want to see The Aborted Spider-Man 3 rip off Futurama like how Sony's Pixels ripped off Futurama? Comment below, let me know. Peace and remember...

"how bizarre a studio could mess up Spider-Man, Norman Osborn, and the death fo Gwen Stacy. "

I may like the film so I wouldn't really be the person to ask fully about this, but I'm pretty sure the general consensus even from people who hate the movie is that Gwens Death is one of the things that movie got right.

@Mrcool210 - Mhm that's right.

@Mrcool210 - No, I'd say they got it wrong. There is way too much build up and foreshadowing of it throughout the film that when she finally dies, we're suppose to be surprised?

I'd say Rachel's death in TDK and Harry's death in SM3 are more death of Gwenish in terms of how shocking and unexpected they were then Gwen's especially Rachel's in TDK which is probably the CBM equivalent to Gwen's death in the comic.

@LEVITIKUZ - But wouldn't you expect Gwen's Death no matter what? Considering the defining moment of her character is her death? Rachel was shocking and unexpected because she was a character specifically created for those films and as such we had no idea where her arc was going. It's a hurdle you can't get around when you specifically say you're doing a Death of Gwen Stacy in your movie (though they probably shouldn't have mentioned it to begin with but the marketing for TASM2 was a mess anyway).

@LEVITIKUZ - And I'm not at all disagreeing that it was very heavy handed and we all saw it coming, but I don't think those comparisons work.

@JamesMann - If you honestly want my opinion.

I would at all have her death anything like the comics.

I wouldn't. I would want something completely unexpected. Let's think about Karen Page in Daredevil for a second. Her destiny in the comics is to become a porn star, get hooked on drugs, sell out Daredevil's identity, and be killed. But in the show, we are no where close to that happened.

It's all in direction and execution.

No lie, never expect to Nolan actually have the pose of Bane breaking Batman's back but it was a pleasant surprise. All in the execution which TASM series failed out.

I would've been curious to see where this would have gone. Then again, I'm always more optimistic about the future of superhero movies where the last installment had a bad reception.

*waits on that F4 sequel everybody is clamoring for*

Was the producers high when they thought up this idea? Because that is just crazy and you can see why this wasn't in the last movie.

I'll always lament that we never got Willem Dafoe in a proper Goblin outfit. Such a perfect Norman/Goblin and they threw him behind such a terrible mask.

That Tobey gif is the perfect example of how terrible he was in that role. Huge miscast, awful acting and trash writing plus one of the worst designs of Spider-Man's costume.
I like Sam Raimi's movies (Evil Dead franchise is still one of my favorites) but his Spider-Man movies a utter trash. I'm glad the fourth one was cancelled.
Calling Garfield an "unlikable hero"? Okaaay, I guess snivelling crybaby Maguire, who spent all his 3 movies the same retarded childish look on his face, is, in your opinion, a perfect Spidey? Well, in reality, he is not.
And what does "a Mary Sue love interest" even means lol?? I think we all agree, that Webb's Gwen destroys Raimi's Dunst (she was not MJ, let's face it).

Sorry but the note is false, TASM3 is about spidey vs the sinister six, thats all. The same marc webb say that.

We have a peter parkr like in the comics a tridimensional characther, the uncle ben diedby the peter selfishness, the villains are only cameos and are much better than the villains of the MCU and since when electro must be development? is only a guy who like be evil, is the villains more generic of spidey, only a giy who like steal money same way than rhino, only the green goblin, otto and venom deserve "development".
