Marvel's Spider-Man: No Way Home- The Art of the Movie doesn't officially release until August 1 but there are apparently a few early-published copies floating out in the wild, and a few excerpts have made their way online recently.
In the concept-art-focused book, Andrew Garfield is asked about whether his Peter Parker has a future in the MCU.
Garfield responded, "The story never ends… Whether we film it or not, there's a story happening in a universe somewhere, there's endless potential with this character and other iterations. So yeah, he's definitely out there doing something."
While more than a few online Spidey fans are optimistically interpreting Garfield's response as confirmation of The Amazing Spider-Man 3, we'll caution that if Garfield ever does suit back up as the wall-crawler, it will likely be in Marvel Studios' Avengers: Secret Wars, which currently has a release date of May 7, 2027.
If the film somewhat resembles the 1984 Marvel Comics crossover event of the same name, Marvel heroes from all across the universe (and maybe even the multiverse) will be assembled on Battleworld to fight to the death.
Rumors have been swirling ever since the film was announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022 that everyone from Garfield and Tobey Maguire to Fox's X-Men will appear in the film as a way to one-up the 'assemble' scene from Avengers: Endgame.
Regardless, it will be a long wait to find out whether any of these rumors prove true, as the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike might play havoc with previously announced film release dates.
