Why make a new Spider-man movie?

Spider-man 3 sucked, but a reboot? c'mon!

(not a real spidey 4 pic!)

Okay, so this is my first anything on this site. I just dont get why they are going to reboot the Spider-man movies? Okay, so you want a new director, fine. A new actor, um okay sure. But you have so much built up in the on going movies, that your waiting for more, not waiting to start all over! Dr. Connors, I think we wanted to see Lizard after all the build up from the 1st 3 movies. Spiderman 3 sucked in alot of ways, but to end the series there? They could of rebounded. Now we got to watch Pete Parker start all over again, do the same stuff weve all ready seen him do. And what is with this new suit. Cmon. This new suit sucks. If nothing else lets get the suit right! If its not broke, dont fix it.

I don't mean to be rude, but I've seen many people do this. It's just, what you wrote as an "editorial" was really a paragraph bashing the idea of a new Spider-Man movie. You could have done that in the comment section of any article about the new Spider-Man movie. Why did you have to write it as an editorial. Now if your editorial was on this same topic, but was much longer and more in depth. I wouldn't be complaining. You basically just said "that sucks and that sucks and that sucks". You had almost no examples that proved your main idea.

The reason there making a new movie so quickly is because if sony dosent, they will lose the rights to spider man.

I have to agree because I loved all 3 Spider-Man movies and I don't want to see those movies go to waiste. This reboot is starting to look terrible seriously have u seen his new suit it looks like crap.

i think they should have killed off MJ in the begining of this movie then he moves on to Gwen and then Lizard comes in and blah blah blah..like that...that would be goood

it should of been a continuation reboot.

spider-man 4-just reboot the cast & crew abit like when then change a bond.

It's sad, but the costume in the photo looks better than the reboot suit. And nothing is wrong with this as an editorial or article. Theres a thread every 2 seconds with someone whining about how you shouldn't judge these crappy movies before seeing them. It's the same thing.

Example: "Why we shouldn't bash the suit": http://www.comicbookmovie.com/spider-man_movies/spider-man_4/news/?a=29905

I agree with NeoBaggins, the suit in this piture here looks at least as good as the new spidey suit! And to Golden123, this is my first post or anything on comicbookmovie.com, I just has something to say so I said it.

The original movies were too wrong. Tobey Maguire was too old. Spiderman got his powers when he was around 15, Tobey looks 30. Tobey Maguire Spiderman wasn't a wise cracking machine. He also wasn't a genius. They made his webbing natural.

I think this movie will be good, it's fixing all the problems the original movies had.

About the suit, I think it's more to differentiate this from the other movies. And he's not gonna have a pee stain in the movie, that's probably just something they have to do for the stunt guy and will be removed in the special effects.

Two reasons, more villains that everyone loves and Gwen Stacy.

They got too far off track with Spider-Man 3. In order to continue where they left off for a 4th movie they'd have to fix a lot of stuff and recasting actors was likely inevitable. Sony probably knew a 4th film would have been the last for Raimi, Maguire, etc so they cut bait and got a jump on a new series rather than postponing the issue. They had to know none of us (or the average moviegoer) wanted Dunst as Mary Jane anymore as she was a whiney selfish beeotch all the time (I mean, I thought S2 resolved all this since she found out why Peter was not at her beck and call, and she was worse in S3!). About the only thing S3 had going for it was setting up the Lizard for the future.

It's possible that Sony disucssed with Marvel how they should proceed. They surely felt like they let things turn X-Men on them and didn't want to make movies just because they have the rights, like Fox does. Sony would never give up the rights to the #1 character, but it seems like they want to make a good movie faithful to the comic (other than the suit) and are kind of doing the reboot thing and getting a good director who isn't known for this stuff, like Marvel has done. Fox just brought Singer back which was their issue to start with. I like that this is being reboot even though I love Spider-Man 2.

Ha see well, it was only a matter of time, before the fans, were going to get soemthing that they didn't want. You can blame Sony for that huge freaking mistake. Everything from consisence of "Reboting it" was a terriable idea; and whoever got the idea for the "reboot" was dumb enough to be part of it.

I'll tell ya from last year and this year. No for msot of the year movies have became either good or worse, and as for this "potnetial rebot" its going to blow right out of the water, with Sony suffering and those who saw crying; as they wish back to that day, that they hadn't saw this!

Too short for an article, and it's a moot point.
