S.H.I.E.L.D. in TASM universe makes total sense.

The sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man is set to release on May 2, 2014 and will further expand the Spider-Man universe. In the sequel we will get to see Spider-Man origin unfold as to what happened to his parents. But one important element to Spidey's background story that is missing is the head director of S.H.I.E.L.D. himself Nick Fury. For the many Spidey fans out there we know that Nick Fury has a history with Peter Parker's parents, recruiting them on missions when they were C.I.A agents. So why not expand the MCU to the Spider-Man universe.

Now I'm sure Sony and director Marc Webb already know how they want the second and third installments to TASM to go but why not have a S.H.I.E.L.D. presence in those movies. It seems as though Sony and Webb are following the Ultimate story arc with Peter's parents being biologists but yet in still who is to say S.H.I.E.L.D. shouldn't partake in festivities. Peter is looking for answers about what happened to his parents so who better to turn to than Nick Fury with his history with his parents. In the end credits of Iron Man Nick Fury says to Tony Stark you think you're the only superhero in town, you're part of a bigger universe you just don't know it yet, so wouldn't Nick Fury be aware of a guy in a blue and red suit webslinging around New York fighting crime? Not to mention in the Avengers Black Widow says that S.H.I.E.L.D. monitors all potential threats, wouldn't S.H.I.E.L.D. know about the events that took place between Spidey and the Lizard on top of Oscorp when Curt Connors tried to turn the people of New York into his own personal army of lizards.

Kevin Feige has stated that other studios owning movie rights to Marvel properties have contacted him if they can use S.H.I.E.L.D. in their movies and Feige seems open to the idea. Disney and Sony came close to having a deal that would allow the Oscorp building in the Avengers but fell through because of scheduling issues. Avi Arad has a good relationship with Feige and Marvel Studios who also seems hip to the idea of possibly having Spider-Man involved in the MCU and in return Disney and Marvel Studios allow Sony to use one of their Marvel properties, nothing serious just little cameos here and there. For example maybe Peter is on the train reading the Daily Bugle with Iron Man on the front page and some kid walks up to him and ask who would win in a fight between Spider-Man and Iron Man or have Spider-Man web slinging through the city and swings by Stark Tower. Like I said nothing major just small cameos or Easter Eggs here and there to acknowledge each others existence.

Point A) Given this is a remake of your last article, which was posted about two or three weeks ago, it is hard to take it seriously enough to consider remarking about it.

Point B) Again, why?

While I don't think its AS bad as yossarian claims, the truth is that TASM is the worst Spider-man movie ever made, regardless of how much you liked the actual movie AS A MOVIE. It makes Peter loose everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that makes him more than just a high schooler.

*How does he get his proportionate spider-like agility, sense, strength, and durability? By trespassing.
*How does he get the idea to make web-shooters? He literally steals the technology and material from Oscorp.
*Why does he wear a masked costume? Not to keep his loved ones safe, as he really just cares about himself... but to make criminals take him seriously.
*Why does he rescue the kid on the bridge? Because it looks good for advertising - how about the other people?

He's not a superHERO, he's just a dick.

But let's put ALL OF THAT aside, and I'll pretend it was THE BEST SPIDER-MAN EVAR!!!
Why would you want SHIELD involved? They would get in the way, piss off Peter, screw up, and then what? I mean at most, the only association I could see is just a passing reference to Spider-man, nothing more.

SHIELD wouldn't be appropriate. You don't need another clandestine organization apart from OSCORP. SHIELD doesn't VALIDATE superheroes... it's not like their presence would give Spider-man a seal of approval.

While it would be cool to see, I don't want this version of Spider-Man to be part of the MCU, it just wouldn't fit right with me.

I don't understand the unneeded focus on peter's parents either.

I think that this could be a better way for introducing the MCU to the TASM continuity, but it doesn't explain where Spidey was in Avengers.

The Avengers came out before TASM so Peter didn't have his powers yet to be Spider-Man.
