Yeah, it is annoying that it has been suggested that the trailer will not be released online, although I believe that will only be for the first couple of months, but either way I hope it gets bootlegged, as been waiting so darn long.

On topic, i really love the suit, there is something quite regal about it that I like, cape is awesome, perfect length.

Good thing the lighting wont matter though because the set will have the perfect lighting. Im loving this movie more and more everyday and the suit looks fantastic!

ya, i love this suit. i'm so glad they got rid of the underpants look, thats always been stupid.
for some reason i don't love the look of the boots in these pics though. maybe i'm just nitpicking

For anyone who is going to bash this, remember what TONS of people said about Spider-man's new suit. And it looked fine in the movie. Don't bash until you see it in action.

I'm also very interested to see how this shines through on film..

@Agreed I felt Superman Returns went overboard with the small 's' over the suite.

@ ksommer Thats only because everyone saw the suit ahead of time. If we didn't see any pics of spiderman's suit within a year before its release, fans would be pissed seeing his new suit for the first time in theaters

Funny how it has a similar looking texture to the new Spidey suit, yet no one is complaining that it looks like a basketball. Hippocrates.

@poop23 wasn't it about this time last year that we started seeing stuff for Spidey? Time tables are pretty close.

@ALF

I don't think anyone can doubt that this is going to be a DARKER costume, no matter how you light it!

Scooby

@topcat10 actually there is a difference in color from your picture and the pictures in the article and the pictures presented by ALF. Just saying, think ALF might have a point.

I love the cape - I think they finally got it perfect this time.

I am a big Superman fan, and I have to say seeing those pictures of Reeves, Routh and Cavill side by side, I am really blown away at how extra silly the red pants on the the outside look.

What I find odd is, Batman in the comics had pants on the outside, and no one seemed to care when they removed them for the movies, or changed / updated his costume.

The new costume looks really cool in this CG render.

@tazmaniak It does look cool, did you make that?

I also hope we will get a MoS game, as need a Superman gaming fix, although with the announcement that the sequel to Arkham City, will be a Prequel with all the Justice League in it, I doubt we will get a solo Superman game.

ANYONE thinkning that they should do this type of design [the textures that make it look like chain mail] on captain americas costume......and im glad they got rid of the s on the cape,i always wondered as to why there were two s's on his costume.same with captain america.

I like it but I want to see it in action.

The cape seems really, really long and you can see it on the ground in that pic with the kid. Just reminds me of The Incredibles 'no capes' policy!!

@Knightrider, no I didn't make it. It's from the SuperHeroHype forums.

Fans would go absolutely nuts if Cavill put this thing on this weekend and went walking around the con (with security, of course).
Speaking of nuts. This suit is definitely onefor the ladies.

Thanks to @Alf for the pics, they are much better than the ones posted on the articles - no offense to the author.

Surprisingly, I have fully accepted the lack of red underwear over the tights and I was 1000% pro undies!

The suit looks great. The colors and textures look like they may be perfect! I can't wait to see how they look on film. It's gonna be incredible.

I DEMAND THE TRAILER NOW!!!

@JULEZ13 "Why wear underpants when you can be far more revealing" Henry Cavill, skip to the three minute mark ;)

I wish I was there to see the suit in person. It looks great IMO.

I can't wait to see in action!

@tazmaniak That's awesome, dude! The only thing I think the costume is missing is a gold belt. I think that would add a little something extra.

@JULEZ It was weird seeing the costume without his trademark red briefs at first, but I think Superman looks cooler now.

Superman is a timeless character. But in comics, things are constantly changing. It make sense his costume has been changed to a more modern look.

Comic book fans that weren't interested in Superman because of his old costume, have no excuses now. More people will take him seriously and give the character a chance. And even though his look has changed, the things he stands for and represents will always remain the same.

JULEZ13 - 7/12/2012, 7:33 PM
@mgeoff88: I agree. I always thought I would hate it if they ever went the direction of removing the undies completely but I have to admit that the costume, the way its designed looks very cool, I really can't complain. I can't wait to see Cavill wearing it on screen, its going to be fantastic!
