Green Arrow - The reason for Smallville's Season 9 and Season 10 poor storylines?

I'm not one to write a long article so I'll keep it brief and to the point.

Green Arrow was originally a great character that contributed heavily to the plot and fun of Seasons 6-8. His character worked where it was needed and was great to the action of the Justice League, etc. It wasn't until Season 9, however, that his "usefulness" to the story and overall plot of Smallville began to hurt the show. Since the writers have made him into a full member of the cast rather than a guest, he has caused numerous episodes to drop in reviews, ratings, etc. His demeanor has gone from a great hero who contributed to the overall team to now of a love crazed lunatic that needs to be pulled from the show.

In Season 9, he served little purpose outside of the few episodes with Hawkman and the team members that showed small pieces of action and plot. Outside of that, he merely whined constantly about his affections for Chloe and his inability "find himself".

Now in Season 10, he continues to drag down the show with more of his lousy romantic scenes with Chloe (another character that has dragged down the shows plot recently), his hiding constantly away from his Green Arrow role and the now loss of the good side of his personality.

My question to you all is this, do you agree that his character has been a heavy contribution to the downfall of what is supposed to be the final season of Smallville? Should the show's producers NOT have switched him to a main character back during Season 8-9? Do you believe the producers should remove him from the remainder of the season - with exception to a brief scene at the finale?

I am a major fan of Smallville and have supported and watched the show since the beginning. I own every episode and watch it constantly. But I for one am tired of seeing the now poorly developed character of the FORMERLY KNOWN Green Arrow....
