Its Official Tom Welling is Directing The Booster Gold & Blue Beetle Episode on Smallville!

Smallville season ten episode seventeen, we have two new DC superheroes meeting Clark Kent, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle....but not Ted in "Booster!"

The upcoming Geoff Johns written Smallville episode "Booster" is going to be directed by Clark Kent himself, Tom Welling Kryptonsite has learned.


The Tom Welling directed episode will feature Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes) and Booster Gold. Booster will have a Legion flight ring but he's just good friends with the Legion an not actually a Legionnaire. Test footage of Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes version) was shown last year (Comic-Con) for this episode and maybe a potential spin-off show too?


Also theres talk of a cameo of Kord Industries (Ted Kord anyone?).


Its been reported that only Brainiac 5 from "Homecoming" and Booster Gold seem to be the only Legion-related presences scheduled for this season, the last season, so no Legion? (Spin-off anyone?)



LEEE777 - The two superheroes Booster & Beetle are together because of their chemistry (as Geoff John's said) but I for one think Ted (Justice League International) Beetle would of been much better, but thats just me. I cannot see why we would get the newer teen Beetle first, does not make sense, its not the original Blue & Gold team, its like having Starsky with Hutch Junior? Still it is Smallville, comments, thoughts below please and hey who's better, Jamie Reyes or Ted Kord?

I know who I like better.

Denn1s @ I'm one of Smallville's biggest fans and thats why I'm not happy with the way its gone since Doomsday and moving it all to Metropolis!

Season 1 to 7 are pure 'edge of your seat' gold!


Still, can't wait for the finale, its gonna be big!!!

I'm a big JLI fan so naturally I love Ted Kord. However, I feel Jaime has really come into his own as Blue Beetle and is a great character in his own right. I am soooo excited for this episode to air!

Sine Jaime is the one who has had more mass media appearances, it makes sense to use him. He has pretty good chemistry with Booster too.

And it was confirmed that it would be Jaime for a while now, like back at Comicon. No big surprise.

My mom (knowing that im a comic fan) bought me Smallville season 1 for Christmas. I haven't watched it yet. Can anybody tell me if I should waste my time on this show or is it worth my time?

its interesting because when i was at the set 2 years ago one of the PA's was telling me that they were looking at bringing on Blue Beetle back then. No mention of BG though, maybe it took this long to get the rights or something like that.

Anywhoooo, Great Find @Leee! Can't wait to see them in action, (or extreme close up drama)

It appears to me that Tom is a better

Welling has done a great job directing his other episodes, so I think it'll be good.

@TwilightMutant...EVERY season has its "stinker" episodes, but most would agree that the early episodes are the better episodes. Season 8 had far too many "stinker" episodes but the show redeemed itself with many "haters" with season 9. Season 10 has had far too many "filler" episodes so far, but we'll see an improved 2nd half soon, I'm sure.



Word of advice, take it for what it is: a comic book TV show with a limited budget. You may enjoy it more if you don't put as critical a perspective as some here constantly do (forgiving far worse adaptations, mind); it's just another Superman RETCON after all.
