The CW has released a new clip from this Friday's episode of Smallville, "Abandoned," but the big news comes from Fancast.com, which is claiming that there will be no spin-off series next season.

With the ratings 'Smallville' has been getting, The CW should try to find a way to keep those viewers - maybe with a spin-off?

'Smallville' has been enjoying some "super" Season 10 numbers, but any direct offshoot seemed extremely unlikely when I ran the idea by Warner Bros. TV president Peter Roth in September. "No, no.... This show has run its brilliant course, and it's well deserved," he told me. "There are no plans [for a spin-off]."

Aww, wanted Welling in the super suit for a whole series! Oh well. Good while it lasted.
And yeah, a Nightwing series with the occasional Batman/ Bat-villain cameo would be cool.

If they base it on "A Knight In Bludhaven" it would be great. Him retiring as Robin and moving to Bludhaven and becoming Nightwing would be an awesome TV series. Especially since we probably won't see him on the big screen in a long time.

Nightwing has a cool costume that would work on TV as well. Give him the long hair! Maybe Jared Padalecki could play him? Might be getting a little too old, don't know.


If they ever did a spin-off series of Smallville, I could see Green Arrow working. Although they might use him on the big screen. Although a Superman show starring T.Welling would be epic. If it's anything like Homecoming showed us! :D

doesnt have a secret identity,and he hasnt
worn the suit...he's not Superman.

I agree with what you've said Welling and
Routh are done deals they're not going to
be the next Superman. I dont know who will

Honestly, I think Smallville is EXACTLY what Superman is/should be: It's Clark Kent. I mean, Jeph Loeb (arguably the best writer of Superman and Batman) said it best, "Clark didn't put on the suit and cape until he was about 25 and he came to Earth as an infant. So he has no memories of Krypton and spent the first 25 years of his life as Clark. So, in essence, he IS Clark. Superman is just a public face for him so people aren't afraid of him." Honestly, I think Tom Welling has done a phenominal job of portraying the character and finally took away the campiness of the character that we've seen over the years, even with Christopher Reeve. Honestly, in my opinion, Smallville is without a doubt the BEST live-action interpretation of the Superman character

You know now that its over I wish it wouldnt. As LEEE777 or deadpool would say, the early series was better. But i beg to differ, the early series was a high school drama. Everything was meteor infected this, lana i love you, lana i hate you. And some superman mythology. Might as well be watching Degrassi or the Hills. Back then I only casualy watched the series. When those creaters left, and they moved the series to metropolis and started to bring the JLA together with DC cameos, and more superman mythology. The show really felt more adult oriented and I really enjoyed it, not missing an episode. Personally, i think smallville to be one of the rare series that has improved with age. I think Tom Welling has too, and if he were to don the cape for the Man of Steel reboot I wouldnt complain. That is if Henry Cavill doesnt get the gig!

won't be long now & it'll be all over,i'm just waiting for the last ever 15 minutes when we finally get to see him in costume. :)

then once his in costume all the smallville fans can see the video evidence why tom welling should never wear the costume again.

i still enjoy the show and will be sad to see it go. i think a spinoff would work fine and dont know why they arent doing one. i just think the cw is more focused on the other crap shows on their network. they have much cheaper budgets cause no special effects so they would rather make a million 903210's then one superhero show cause its much cheaper.

if they are going to this again successfully, they need to do "Gotham" for Bruce Wanyne/Batman. He's the one person everyone has wanted to see and never got the chance too. Maybe a Wonder Woman series detailing her time on the Island. They could do it somewhat like Zena or something

Fanboys should Unite start our own network and work with comic's to produce shows true to the source material. It would make so much money and I don't understand why it hasn't been done. Even if Marvel or DC did it on their own they gotta know people would watch...GIVE me Marvel and DC tv!!
