We're winding down on the final season of Smallville, and the CW has released the official plot summary for the 13th episode, "Beacon."

MARTHA KENT COMES HOME - Clark (Tom Welling) is surprised to see Martha (Annette O'Toole) on the news speaking at a pro-vigilante rally. However, surprise quickly turns to horror when he and Lois (Erica Durance) watch as Martha gets shot on national television. Meanwhile, Lionel (John Glover) reveals himself to the world and reclaims LuthorCorp from Tess (Cassidy Freeman) and Oliver (Justin Hartley). Lois and Chloe (Allison Mack) decide to cheer Clark up by showing him videos from thousands of vigilante supporters professing their support for The Blur. Videos were created and submitted by actual Smallville fans...
Mike Rohl directed the episode written by Don Whitehead & Holly Henderson.

"Beacon" is scheduled to air at 8.00pm on Friday, February 4 on The CW.

@deathspoon yeah I agree, it's really bad timing..but they wrote that episode a while ago....if its a filler, maybe they'll just put it out of rotation

So it's a story cotinueing the Lionel luthor return arc from earlier, has the return of Chloe which will certainly come with some information about where shes been, and it advances Clark becoming superman by embracing his fans. And yet people will still call it a filler episode? Ridiculous. Apparently any episode that doesn't feature darkseid will be considered filler.'even though the show is about the voyage or superman not darkseid.

One can only hope that the return and shooting of Clark's mom along with the videos supporting the Blur (I never liked the term "Blur") will lead to the possible wearing of the SUPERMAN costume?
