HAWKMAN and the JSA are cool in this, pity they [frick]ed up and killed half the cool ones straight away! : (

Especially SANDMAN & DR FATE, were wasted in this!

@LEEE Did you see last nights episode? Michael Hogan who played Saul Tigh on Battlestar Galactica was Slade Wilson and at the end Deathstroke got his eye patch. Now he has played two characters that lose an eye lol. It was cool last night Smallville having two actors from BSG on.

See this is what Im talking about usually
Smallville STINKS,but every full
moon or so you get the JSA to carry the
show. Real actors like SHANKS shows up
and the story is quite interesting and
entertaining WITH GOOD ACTING.Special
Guest stars rule this show because without
them this show would really stink worst
than it already does!!

I hate the way SHANKS looks,but it's
smallville they never get it right.
GREEN ARROW and a handful of others out of
the 100 or so characters that's been
on this show ARE THE ONLY ONES CLOSE
TO BEING LIKE THEIR COMICBOOK COUNTER
PARTS.

Boy anyone notice how bad of an actor Alan
Ritchson is? He's as bad as Welling.. last
night those two couldnt get out of first
gear to save their lives. No matter whats
going on in the scene those two keep the
same pitch,mannerism,posture,etc.. they
really need some acting classes!!

Hawkman kind of annoys me on this.

I don't think the problem is that its too big. I think the problem is it too shiny with an outfit that isn't. Hawkman, Green Arrow & Doctor Fate all have outfits that look like they are suppose to be made of leather (or some other type of armor) were Star Girl's outfit is very obviously cloth. Its OK if one of their masks/helmets are shiny, but not her's. I think it is suppose to be more of a full face mask as apposed to just over the eyes. I think very much the show has a "what if people had comic book powers in the real world" as apposed to just a comic book show (hence the VRA). "Secret Identity" is something they really never touched on yet and that's why the VRA was brought in. Those little over the eyes masks wouldn't really hide an identity.

I'm gonna agree with Olu, AC's personality was spot on. Aquaman does not have the happy go lucky personality in the 70's cartoon. He's a king with the weight of his people on his shoulders, which I'm glad they finally squeezed in storyline wise. He's been known to be cold and calculating!

As for Welling. He's done this series and 1 film as a lead and 2 films as a supporting character. He's not had much by way of real acting experience which means all his acting is based off of a different weekly director. The director is the one who controls how an actor acts. For a good example, look at David Boreanaz. His role as Angel in Buffy was ok at 1st but great in the end, but they had repeating directors return! His role as Booth in Bones has sometimes brought a tear, especially episodes where the military was involved, which he cares alot about. Now go watch The Crow: Wicked City, where Boreanaz plays Lucifer side by side with Tara Reid. He's the only reason I watched the film cause I like Angel. I couldn't watch the whole movie it made me sick so bad!! You praised Shanks, go see him in the 3 or 4 episodes of Andromeda he did...it was awful!!! Another example is Superman 2. More then half the film was awesome, then the Salkinds replaced Donner as the Director with a guy who never even read a comic before. When did Superman have the plastic "S" shield trap or the teleporting and duplicating powers or the Kryptonian finger ray? Now every time I see a bad actor or bad plot device, I just see a bad director.

saying the portrayal was wrong just to me the delivery
was BAD..STALE even like WELLING. I like
AQUAMAN and
RITCHSON certainly looks the part I just think he needs
to brush up his skills.

Jimdlux: very valid points and dully noted that's
the reason alot of us on here think WELLING STINKS!!
Come on he's had 10yrs to get this character down
it's not all on the directors when an actor cant act!!

I'll cut RICTCHSON some SLACK, but WELLING there's no
excuse that Im buying.. besides WELLING STINKS even when
he directs the episode himself.

I really dont care how SHANKS performs on the SCI-FI
channel I dont even watch that show. When he comes to
smallville he's head and shoulders above that cast skill wise.
Maybe he does suck on the show your
referring too I just dont see how it has anything to
do with him portraying HAWKMAN correctly, or atleast
as correct as the director directs him.

i wonder is clark has done anything on smallville yet. will there be any action this season..

I think the hawk men costumes from "Flash Gordon" looked better!

Here's hoping they actually need to put those characters back in. Clark and Tess can't find Lois on their own. He did with Chloe in Watchtower.

I will say this about WELLING he has put
together some decent episodes as a director
NO DOUBT about it!!

LEEE: RITCHMAN he's good at looking good and
playing the lone wolf tough guy hero..spot
on. He just seems to lack range like WELLING,
but maybe a 2-5yr run on an AQUAMAN series
will better his overall range as an actor..
in some cases practice makes perfect!!
