Smallville New Items: Love & Villains

A couple of Smallville related posts have popped up that discuss the next few episodes of the series, and we've got excerpts from those E! Online and TVGuide.com reports.

E! Online has a story on the romance between Lois and Clark, following up on the engagement ring we'd seen Clark holding. The site offers:

"It goes kind of where people are expecting it to go," executive producer Kelly Souders promises you fans. "And it'll happen in the next three episodes."
And that's all the timing you are getting, so guess what? You'll have to watch this show each and every Friday! (Lucky you.)

"Sources in the know tell me the engagement scene is a pretty amazing payoff for "Clois" fans (bring a hanky!). But will it be as out-of-this-world swoon-worthy as Clois' barn scene in the 200th episode?

"That's hard to top," executive producer Brian Peterson admits. But Souders is hopeful. "We're trying. We're giving it the old Smallville try. It's a pretty romantic moment."

TVGuide.com is hinting towards a new villain (not Darkseid) in the following item: "A new villain is coming to town. The producers are looking for a chiseled young man to play a recurring character who begins to realize his special abilities after a freak accident. (Don't they all?) Though he idolizes Clark, a darkness within will eventually put him at odds with the future Man of Steel."

You meant Lois right? I really do care so much
about the engagement scene let's keep it moving
we dont need three episodes of that. Develop Darkseid or get rid of him..Im sure it's gonna be jacked
anyways look what they did to poor DOOMSDAY.

I love Smallville. But why the hell are they doing the exact same story for Darkseid's character that they did with Doomsday, which I honestly loved because Sam Witwer is great.

Just so people are clear on what I meant with loving what they did with Doomsday.I was meaning that I really enjoyed the Davis Bloom character because of Sam Witwer.

Clark needs to start flying now. The Super-Running and Leaping is getting old now.

I wonder who that new villain is, it must be somebody decent for them to be introducing him so late. I'm shocked they didn't bring back Metallo this year, I thought they did a real good job with him.

The only things I'd really like to see now are Rosenbaum back for the finale and some mention of Bruce Wayne or Batman. I'm not even a big batman fan, I just think it would be really cool. I know they can't actually use the character but they could still do something cool.

Like maybe during the finale Clark gets a letter and all we see are the initials B.W and Gotham.

Thunderguy123,

Very intelligently put.

To all

Look the show has stayed on course with the course they chose a few years ago. The filler episodes often are better than the main arc. I think as with a lot of things in history, we should judge it in its entirety. This whole season should seem a lot better when viewed as a whole. They have proven since losing the originators of the series that they are hard pressed to truly develop depth in the characters and make the whole season tie up all loose ends. We shall see...

YAAAAAY SMALLVILLE!
HOOORRAAAYYY!
Haters gonna hate, but Welling's gonna be puttin' in the most time as Supes by the end of the season!
(And before those haters nitpick, yes, he is indeed Superman. Now hate or whatever).

They should throw in Billy Batson/Captain Marvel and have him go head to head with Superman, sorry... "The Blur"...

@ grif

no i don't think i could manage another 10 years of hate.

@ thunderguy123

did you mention how much the show sucked, only messing with ya,well said.

3 episodes of build up romance shit & 15 minutes action yep thats what comic fans want to see.

bring a hanky, the only time i'll need a hanky is when the show ends,i'll need it to soak up my tears of joy.

the final episode will feature the best moment ever & it won't be tom "bell end" welling in the costume,it'll be when the credits go up one last time. :D

@MANofSHAZAM.....I thought they should let Captain Marvel show up and teach him how to be a real superhero. But, as we all know, if Captain Marvel did show up, he's just be Billy Batson wearing a read t-shirt with a white flowery jacket. One more piece of DC canon to crap all over.
MANofSHAZAM
MANofSHAZAM - 11/18/2010, 6:18 AM
@Knightstalker True.. but I reckon that they could get either Patrick Warburton or Brandon Molale, 'cause lets face it neither of them are great, but definitely look the part for Captain Marvel. And if they got someone else to write it the story could actually be good, like when Geoff Johns writes for Smallville... however.. it's probably a bit late for all that now...
Knightstalker
Knightstalker - 11/18/2010, 7:22 AM
It truly amazes me how the writers can constistantly miss the boat. Tommy Boy should be IN the suit and learning how to be a "super" man. That guy has got to be the oldest teenager in the world.
MANofSHAZAM
MANofSHAZAM - 11/18/2010, 8:54 AM
The fact that he's still called The Blur really annoys me. They really did mess up with Doomsday and do the whole Zod thing to death... but at least Geoff Johns knows how to make up for all that. Definitely looking forward to seeing the Blue Beetle.
