Smallville News: Jaren Brandt Bartlett is Playing The Blue Beetle!

Entertainment Weekly reveals that Jaren Brandt Bartlett has landed the part of Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes version) in the Smallville episode titled "Booster."

Jaren Brandt Bartlett born February 3 1988 a Canadian actor who will be donning the blue alien suit for the new Blue Beetle. He will be playing the part of Jaime Reyes (no not Ted Kord fanboys). The actor plays Alejandro in the hit TV show The Troop and as most know, theres been talk/rumor of a spin-off Beetle show too in the works.


No CW Official Description is out as yet and as earlier reported Days of Our Lives actor Eric Martsolf is playing the part of DC superhero from the future Booster Gold.

LEEE777 - Well we all knew it wouldn't be Ted Kord, I for one wont see the blue & gold magic without Ted as Beetle personally, but fingers crossed CW does deliver. Bartlett has also been in the TV series Aliens In America.

How can they have Booster Gold, but not have Ted Kord as Blue Beetle...
I love Smallville, but it just seems like the writers don't read the comics.

@patriautism There using this Blue Beetle as he is the incarnation that is currently in the comics. Also from what ive heard they are still going to mention Ted Kord and will have some Kord tech on them in the episodes.

Ted Kord and Booster Gold had the best chemistry as complementary characters, in JLI. But the new Beetle rocks too damn much for them to use Kord. I'm just wondering, though, will Kord be dead, as in Infinite Crisis? Will it be Max Lord that killed him?

But yeah, its a real shame,don't like the new Beetle much myself, should of saved him for a series and had the original, Ted Kord as Beetle in this one... just like the JLI team!

Ted Kord is reportedly going to be on the show as well.

That kid isn't chubby.

The guy playing Booster I disagree with but physically he can play the part. He would be better suited to play Batman.

After a short amount of research, I discovered that the picture of this young actor has to be a few years old at least.

I found an unofficial trailer for a new film that he's in...where he's playing a bully or something. He first comes in at about 17 seconds: HERE

He looks older now, but not too old.
