I'm very excited about Smallville's upcoming episode "Pandora." I think this Zod arc is Smallville's most impressive storyline and is something that would actually happen in the comic books. Hopefully, they don't screw this up.

Apparently Lois travels to the near future where Zod rules under the red sun. Clark and Lois appear to get in trouble and Oliver and Chloe bail them out, or at least try to.

There are still some things that don't make sense like whether Chloe will have any real rescuing skills or are the writers trying to make her useful without a computer and also the question of why they have kryptonite arrows instead of bullets. Hmmm. We'll have to wait until November 20th to find out!

Kryptonite arrows: because nothing else can get Chloe more wet!

Kryptonite arrows: because kryptonite bullets are so last year.

I wonder if Jor-el changed the Kandorians in a way that the yellow sun makes them normal and a red sun gives them strength. That might explain why there is a red sun and the need of the Krytonite arrows.

@ stopgropandroll

Well, in the last episode they showed Jor-el using a blue crystal that probably took away the yellow sun's powers. I don't know why backwards would make them strong, though that might be what they have planned.

I've always thought it was stupid how Clark can lose his powers and not be affected by Kryptonite. If magic or something sucks up the yellow suns radiation in your body and takes away your powers, that's one thing. But you're still an alien and your DNA is your own, so why wouldn't Kryptonite affect you?

If those arrows are supposed to work on Zod, he better be pretty distracted.

So far from what I've seen of this season I'm happy about it, I mean they have Clark dressed as himself like how its suppose to be, then they have the Blur dressed in black with a black raincoat, its like what they should've done by season 8 instead of 9 but oh well i like it anyway.

They are arrows because they will have been made by Oliver.

stopdropandroll@ The Kandorians don't have powers so far because Jor-El corrupted the orb with blue kryptonite.

gorgeousgeeks@ The reaction to Kryptonite has best been explained to me like this: Kryptonians natural biology allows them to absorb and retain yellow solar energy, the radiation from kryptonite reacts to these power stores and that is how it hurts them, if the kryptonian has no powers then he has no stored energy for the kryptonite radiation to react with and nothing happens.

I think the Kandorians will ultimately get their powers from the RAO tower regardless of the modification Jor-El made to the orb.

@HarrisonBergeron That makes sense, however Chloe should have been armed with a gun and I hope they shoot to kill, because end of the world is serious business.

I like your explanation of the kryptonite...however, if you expect me to believe that the writers of Smallville took any of that into account and didn't simply and blindly write the script with whatever reasons they wanted, then you are wrong. Kryptonite has been their tool and excuse to make bad guys with the dumbest explanations or to make Clark randomly get sick because they needed more conflict in the episode. A tiny piece of kryptonite makes him fall on the ground but he can still french Lana before saying goodbye.

I think you're smart, but I don't think the writers are that smart, or at least they weren't before. Season 9 is redemption.

They couldn't do Doomsday, I don't know if Clark should tackle Darkseid. That would have to be one epic mega arc. However, this season is really good. Maybe they could do a decent job, but I don't think they'd have the budget for it.

The Blur doesn't need to fight Darkseid. Superman needs to fight Darkseid.
