SMALLVILLE Will Continue With Season 11 In Comic Form

We had heard reports that the Smallville story would carry on with a series of novels, but now it seems an eleventh season of the show will take the form of first digital, then print comic books..

Last year Bleeding Cool reported that Bryan Q Miller would continue the tale of Smallville with "Season 11" novels, but now they have confirmation that it will actually be comic books. Apparently they will go out weekly in digital form and then collected monthly in print comic books. Art will be provided by Pere Perez, with digital covers by Cat Staggs. Here is his first one..

The digital Smallville Season 11 comic will begin from DC Comics on April the 13th, with the first printed collection on May 16th, with Clark Kent now as Superman, and the cast of Oliver Sullivan-Queen, Chloe Sullivan-Queen, the Lanes and the Luthors.

Interesting stuff eh? At least for Smallville fans - although something tells me its detractors might be checking this out too, at the very least so they can make fun of it if it's awful!

the writing might be better as well.maybe they can chop tom welling up (because he's acting is wooden) & use him for the paper that would be used to print the comic.

demonhunter15, I don't think Welling has a choice in the matter. Usually in franchises you sign over your rights in terms of your likeness.

I'm actually psyched about this and it was something I'd hope they'd do. HATED the ending of the show, but this could be fun.

@Jimdlux RE "I just hope they don't have him in that ridiculous 52 outfit!"

You can see on the picture that there is no "red underpants" it looks kind of almost like the New 52 costume, with a gold belt instead of red.

I actually always wanted them to end the series and just continue the story in comic book form, comics aren't limited by budget (it costs just as much for an artist to draw a fight scene than it does for them to draw a conversation.)

bring it on! i hope they are good.

The show stopped being really good from season 3, season 4 onwards was a guilty pleasure but lost all sense of direction or basic common sense and the finale was utter trite!

This comic may satisfy some fans who still feel they need more Smallville, the rest of us can happily move on without it.

I was watching this show because I wanted to see Superman on TV... They already have several Superman Comics.... I don't see the point of this.

They finally show us a complete suited up Superman flying on Smallville.. and it's relegated to the comics?

So many seasons of foreplay, and the final satisfaction is anti-climatic and as weak as the drawn out series itself.

Teabag- Ahhh dont you just love being reported for having an opinion?

Seriously though guys do not report someone for saying something you dont agree with, report them for bullying you, another user, spaming, ect.

Also as for the comic book... meh. A comic book is a lame idea since the show had to be sooo watered down to fit superman into TV format, with action taking a back seat to teen angst. While I am not against that in and of itself, it just got nausiating with this show.

C'mon, it'll be cool to see Welling as Superman go up against Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor. Here's hoping that the writer takes things in an exciting direction using the show's continuity and relationships.

Ehh, what is the point of this? Haven't they butchered the legacy of Superman enough already with 10 years of Snoreville??? :/
