SPOILERS: Smallville - Get Ready For Conner Kent

TVline has broken the story that Alexander Luthor, whose proved impervious to a needle penetrating it on last week's episode, will be revealed to be Conner Kent, made up of the DNA of both Lex Luthor and Clark Kent.

Here's what Michael Ausiello writes, "As foreshadowed in the final seconds of Friday’s episode (as well as a certain AA Asterisk Quiz), Luthor clone Alexander (played by Lucas Gabreel) is actually… Conner frakkin’ Kent! Although I can’t say when exactly his secret identity will be revealed, I can confirm (via the exclusive photo above) that an upcoming episode contains a not-too-subtle nod to the character’s super-powered lineage. (Turns out Conner is something of a Blur fanboy.)

“Conner’s journey is manipulated by a master,” showrunners Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders reveal exclusively to TVLine. “Luckily, someone knows more about Conner’s life than he does. But he should be wary of strangers bearing gifts.”

What are your thoughts on this development (which this Voices From Krypton editor had suggested in some conjecture of the weekend)? Sound off below.

...at this point, okay... why not? A clone of Lex we knew about, and toss in a little mix of Clark DNA, then it matched the comics enough... If the entire series had this much comic geekdom from the start, it would have been SUPER.

Conner Kent was called Kon-El, created from Superman's DNA cloned after Superman's assasinated attack with doomsday

How exactly is this messing up smallville continuity?

I called this like 3 seasons ago, this is how they get to keep the show going and still attract the teeny bopper crowd.

Also, this kind of debunks what I just said, but Connor Kent's presence is one more thing to add the list of Crisis factors. I really think that SV is going to end with their own mash up of the three crisis', and Connor had a big part in Infinite Crisis.

Well that ugly little high school musical brat looks nothing like the comic book Connor Kent. But whatever.

Maybe this means they can actually bring in Rosenbaum as the ORIGINAL Lex Luthor who somehow survived the truck explosion. Lest we forget he has the unusual white-blood cell count that helped him survive crazy shit in the past. Maybe it could help him survive that explosion too =P

Silly rabbit, at this point Smallville doesn't have a continuity to mess up. Superman's continuity on the other hand...
