The CW and DC TV are pulling out all the stops for their upcoming "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event, and earlier today,
Deadline learned that both Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh will suit up as Superman for the highly anticipated crossover, which is set to air this fall.
Routh, who currently stars on
DC's Legends of Tomorrow, will reprise his role as Clark Kent/Superman for the first time in well over a decade, having originally played the Man of Steel in 2006 in Bryan Singer's
Superman Returns. In addition to his role as Superman, he'll also feature prominently in his series regular role as Ray Palmer/The Atom.
Hoechlin is, of course, the Arrowverse's Superman, having appeared on multiple episodes of
Supergirl and featuring in last year's "Elseworlds" crossover.
The five-part "Crisis on Infinite Earths" will easily be The CW's most ambitious crossover yet and will see the heroes from
Supergirl,
The Flash,
Arrow,
Legends of Tomorrow and
Batwoman unite to stop a common enemy. The first three installments will air in December, with the final two chapters coming our way in January.
With two Men Of Steel now on board, it remains to be seen whether or not The CW also has plans to bring back the network's original Superman:
Smallville's Tom Welling.
