Defending Megan Fox as April O'Neill. I know it sounds crazy.

I am writing my defense of Megan Fox as April O'Neill. I do not however condone any other movie she has made. As a matter of fact I strongly recommend that no one, I repeat no one, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, watch Jennifer's Body. EVER!

Let me start out saying that I have a crush on Megan Fox. It's sort of the kind of crush you had on that girl in highschool that was a total bitch, dumb as a box of rocks but also very well endowed in all the right places and she puts out, so its like "yeah, she has all of these terrible qualities but hey... she does put out". I am not going to use any of Megan's past acting credits to defend her simply because most of the shit she has made is indefensible, but I am going to use other actresses to prove my point.

When it comes to female characters in genre films and CBM's you don't really expect them to be the highlight of the film. To be fair Megan Fox was not the worst part of the Transformer films. I mean they got rid of her in Dark of The Moon and that movie was still really, really, really, bad. Most of it's awfulness stems from the direction and script from which it was made, but I give at least twenty percent of the credit for how bad those movies were to Shia Lebeouf. I don't really know why but I hate that guy, he comes off as a total pretentious prick that thinks he's better than the movies he is cast in. Sorry little guy but 'Holes' wasn't exactly compelling cinema. Alas, this isn't about why I hate Shia Lebeouf (that could go on for days) it's about Megan Fox so read on for why she won't be that bad as April O'Neill.

Now to the casting of Megan Fox as April O'Neill. I know that there are a thousand better actresses that could have played this role but lets go back to the days of old when Judith Hoag was playing this role in the original film. Think back was there ever a part of that movie where you looked at the screen and said , "Wow, Judith Hoag is the brightest aspect of this movie and that is why it's awesome. I can't wait until the next Judith Hoag film." No. No one ever said that regarding her performance.

Now let's move on to the fantastic acting of Paige Turco, in the sequel and the third film. While I believe she was better than Judith Hoag, her acting was still wooden and dry and completely devoid of any real talent. When your best scene in a film is, "the rat is the cleanest one" it is pretty obvious you are going to have a very short and unremarkable career. I personally can't remember Judith hoag or Paige Turco from anything but the Ninja Turtle movies.

Let's be honest here, throughout the history of the Ninja Turtles films, April O'Neill, at her best, is a set piece and at her worst, a serious distraction from the film. Not really good for anything but giving the turtles a human to interact with. So in the end, Megan Fox makes for a damn fine set piece to look at and I promise you when this film comes out no matter how bad the delicious Ms. Fox's acting will be the very funny and talented Will Arnett will carry her through to the end. So let's all stop pretending that this movie will be ruined by Megan Fox as April O'Neill. After all she is really just a prop with a smoking hot body. It will be ruined by that midget playing Splinter. ;D
this has been your friendly neighborhood inkslinger bidding you adieu.

P.S. Megan, Call me.

Megan fox IMO is not a bad actress. She's just not in the best of movies. She was great in Transformers, friends with kids, and This is 40. She was sorta a highlight in Jonah hex...at least for me. I'm excited to see her in Ninja Turtles.

I think Megan Fox should try a different genre of film, if you know what I mean.

I love Shia, but that was funny

Anyway, wanna know what the very first thing I said was when it was announced a new TMNT was happening?

"I hope April is finally hot."

Mission accomplished, Michael Bay. I have had no problems whatsoever with this casting. I only thought it was funny because I thought they hated each other after Transformers 2.

I will disagree about Judith Hoag, tho, who yes, I thought was.very good in the first film
