Spoiler Warning from here on. The second also makes reference to a small element of the climatic scene:

If you don’t want to know what happens in the after the credits scene in Thor: The Dark World, then stop reading now. While Thor: The Dark World won’t open in the United States until November 8, 2014, Marvel Studios is releasing the film overseas a week earlier, which means many in the foreign press have already seen advance screenings of the film.

Penultimate chance to turn back. SPOILER WARNING!

Of course, with critics having viewed the film, spoilers are already flooding the Internet. The description below comes from the Belgian website Brainfreeze.be, but it matches up with reports from others who have seen the film. There are two post credits scenes in Thor: The Dark World. Here’s a rough translation from the site of what happens in both scenes.

Last chance to turn back, if you haven't already, as this is your final SPOILER WARNING!

Scene 1 occurs about midway through the credits, and it helps set the stage for Guardians of the Galaxy. According to Brainfreeze’s description, “After the Aether is back in the hands of the Asgardians , Sif and Volstagg bring the item to the intergalactic museum of none other than The Collector, played by Benicio del Toro . The reason for this is that the Tesseract is already on Asgard and they should have no two Infinity Stones in their possession. When he is alone with the Aether, The Collector utters the phrase, ‘One down, five to go.’”

Scene 2 occurs at the end of the credits, and it is a comic relief scene that also seems to set up a third Thor movie. According to Brainfreeze’s description, “Thor returns to Earth and into the arms of Jane Foster, and they share a passionate kiss. The God of Thunder clearly chooses to be with her. In last scene, a beast from Jotunheim pops up in London, having previously passed through an interdimensional passage during the Convergence during the final battle.”

So, what do all of you guys, and girls, think of these scenes. Do they wet the appetite? Are they anticlimactic? Sign off in the usual place.

Your Craptain salutes you!

Ohhhh. Setting the stage for the Infinity Gauntlet.

I'm guessing The Collector will ultimately be giving them to THANOS.

I'm starting to get that buzz for the next instalments, knowing that they're gonna start linking them together.

I've to my tickets for 29th November for Thor/Avengers Assemble/Thor: The Dark World IMAC 3D. One week baby!

You a Peter Kay fan, Craptain?

And, MARVELPSYCHO, me too man. Can't wait for GotG.

MrCBM, Collector is more likely to be keeping the gems away from Thanos. The Collector is actually a good guy, he just tries to collect the wrong things sometimes. Did anyone else notice how the Other's chin resembles Collector's chin? Maybe the Other is a new Elder of the Universe for the MCU.

Couldn't help but read

the first scene sounds great, can't wait to see the collector. and the fact that they are building towards the infinity saga is fantastic.

the second scene sounds like the way they will explain Thor being on Midgard in Avengers 2. The main event is over but there is stuff popping up he can help with and just stays im guessing. Then at the end of Avengers 2 Sif or someone shows up and says he's needed back in Asgard.
Start Thor 3

The 2nd after credit scene is a bit underwhelming, which will probably lead to nothing if you think about it.

Maybe that sets up to Avengers 2 instead of Thor 3 (most likely)...

Hoping Thor 3 takes place completely off of Earth (maybe if GotG does really good)

1 down 5 to go? Is he talking about the infinity Gems? If he is than that's pretty confusing... What happened to The Mind Gem (Blue Gem) that Loki had in AVENGERS?! Shouldn't it be TWO down FOUR to GO?! I'm confused can someone pls clarify thanks
MrReese
MrReese - 10/22/2013, 4:53 PM
@Marvel1997 Asgard has the blue gem. It's mostly likely in Odin vault.

"The reason for this is that the Tesseract is already on Asgard and they should have no two Infinity Stones in their possession."

Since they hand over the Aether 2 The Collector he has "1 down 5 2 go"
