BOX OFFICE: THOR: RAGNAROK Hulks Out With An Estimated Thursday Night Debut Of $12+ Million

Early numbers are in for Thor: Ragnarok's long overdue debut at the North American box office last night and things are looking very good indeed for the God of Thunder's return to the big screen...

Marvel Studios has produced yet another hit as the early Thursday night numbers for Thor: Ragnarok point to the movie having made $12 million - $14 million. Providing the threequel stays on course and meets or exceeds that, it will score even more than Thor: The Dark World ($7.1 million), Doctor Strange ($9.4 million), Guardians of the Galaxy ($11.2 million) and even Fox's Deadpool movie ($12.7 million).

As for how the Taika Waititi helmed release is expected to perform over the weekend, chances are it could earn upwards of $40 million today and will go on to gross as much as $120 million by Sunday.

PostTrak scores for Thor: Ragnarok are through the roof and proving that 3D isn't quite dead yet, 50% of moviegoers watched the movie in that format. 24%, meanwhile, checked it out on an IMAX screen.

Have you seen Thor: Ragnarok yet? If so, what did you think? Oh, and just how high do you think these box office numbers will go this weekend? As always, share your thoughts in the comments section.

Saw it last night. It was a good time, much better than the last two films for sure. Hulk looked awful in the film, though. What happened with him?

@Battabing -
I think it has to do with the shade of green they used on him.
Basically the same reason why Spidey's costume always looks fake, even when it's not.
Of course, Hulk is ALWAYS in CG (dhu! :P) but i felt that too, especially when he was on Asgard.

My major problem was the green screen, like holy f*ck NOW THAT was bad fellas.
Like, i noticed that even in the trailers, but i didn't say anything because i was sure the were going to fix that eventually, but nope, it's basically the same, and it's so obvious (hence why it was bad).

But Fenris, Surtur etc... the CG was good enough for me.

Movie still doesn't explain how the quinjet and Hulk got to Sakaar when Fury said it crashed in the ocean.
