Karl Urban Reveals Which THOR: RAGNAROK Co-Star He Shares A Lot Of His Scenes With

You can probably guess who it is, but Star Trek Beyond star Karl Urban has gushed about a certain actress he'll be sharing scenes with, and also why his role in the Marvel threequel is the coolest

Karl Urban was still making the rounds for Star Trek Beyond yesterday when he had shared more exciting thoughts on joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Skurge the Executioner in Thor: Ragnarok. The New Zealand actor also enthused about reuniting with his Oscar-winning Lord of the Rings co-star Cate Blanchett, who is playing Hela, the Goddess of Death.

“I just started shooting Ragnarok on the Gold Coast with Chris Hemsworth,” he confirmed to Zap2It. “I read a fun, action-packed script and love my character, Skurge. I get to work a lot with Cate Blanchett. She and I were in Lord of the Rings together, but we never actually shared any screentime. I’m looking forward to that; should be a fun experience.”

Urban then shared why he thinks Ragnarok will be different from the first two installments; and it’s a reason director Taika Waititi might disagree with. “I think this is going to feel like a buddy-buddy Thor movie,” he said. “Starring Hulk and Thor, they’ll be good together.”

Based on what Karl Urban said above, it sounds like Skurge will be a pawn of Hela, although we probably could have guessed that considering the two are new villains to the franchise. However, the Asgardians’ relationship may change over the course of the Marvel threequel especially considering what Karl Urban told the folks at ComicBook in a separate interview:

“So, the coolest thing about Skurge [the Executioner]? I think is probably his journey through the film. There’s change and there’s - he finishes the film in a different place than he starts and, as an actor, that’s always something you look for.” What do you think?

Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi, and it stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Karl Urban (Skurge), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), with Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster) and Cate Blanchett (Hela). And Thor: Ragnarok is set to open in theaters on November 3, 2017.

@Matchesz - If you don't read comics, how would you possibly know that to be true? Cartoons?

@Matchesz - In the comics yes, but it doesn't have to be so in the MCU.

@Matchesz - That still only tells you factoids, not if they're good together (which takes more of an investment on your part to know, as opposed to someone telling you that that's the case).

You also couldn't always see them that way, because as you said, Google and Wikipedia.
