SPOILERS: What Do THOR: RAGNAROK's After-Credits Scenes Mean For The Future Of The MCU?

Thor: Ragnarok has two after-credits scenes but what do those mean for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what should you expect from them? If you don't mind being spoiled, you can find out after the jump.

WARNING: Major SPOILERS For Thor: Ragnarok's after-credits scenes follow from this point onwards.

Thor: Ragnarok features a total of two after-credits scenes but what exactly do they entail and just how much do they set up what comes next for the God of Thunder in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, the first sets up the events of Avengers: Infinity War, something which was to be expected considering the fact the Comic-Con trailer for that movie kicked off with the hero floating through outer space!

After-Credits Scene #1 - Avengers: Infinity War

The scene begins with Thor and Loki trying to decide where in the cosmos they're going to take the remaining citizens of Asgard who have taken refuge on The Grandmaster's ship. As the brothers talk about whether or not it's really a good idea for the God of Mischief to return to Earth and settle on that being their final destination, a gigantic ship appears in front of them and the screen fades to black.

That's obviously one of Thanos' vessels and may hold the Mad Titan himself. How that leads to Thor being discovered by the Guardians of the Galaxy and what that means for the rest of the people of his ship remains to be seen but there's a very good chance it has something to do with the Tesseract as it wouldn't be out of character for Loki to have planned some sort of meet up with the powerful villain.

What does the second Thor: Ragnarok after-credits scene entail? You can find out by clicking below.

After-Credits Scene #2 - The Grandmaster's Comeuppance

The second after-credits scene is a lot more humorous in nature as it takes us back to Sakaar after the people have revolted against The Grandmaster. He's been holed up on one of the planet's many dumps in a crashed ship with two beautiful women (neither of whom seem overly pleased being stuck there with him) but is quickly confronted by his people and things look extremely bleak for his future.

The Grandmaster attempts to talk his way out of getting a beating (or worse) and tries to take credit for the revolution as they did need someone to revolt against! However, the scene ends when he suggests a tie but it's clear that he'll get his just desserts in the end. Chances are we won't see him again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but that would be a shame as Jeff Goldblum is simply amazing here.

Have you seen Thor: Ragnarok? If so, what did you think of these scenes? Share your thoughts below.

Loved it!!

Easily the best Thor film. Looked spectacular, was funny in the best way, heartfelt, Kiwi, epic, and a big progression for the character of Thor in the MCU.

@RasAlGhul - This is my exact feelings for 1 and 2 as well and Ragnarok blew me away. Just incredible, I'm tempted to just go every night. A lot of noise about too much humour but 'it just works' and frankly pays the titular character respect that's long overdue.

@RasAlGhul - Just imagine the first two Thor films, but without Kat Dennings being crowbarred in for "comic relief" and Thor having a witty charisma, and his usual mixture of cocky arrogance and moments of insecurity.
