THOR: RAGNAROK: 18 Stills Spotlight The Wacky World Of Sakaar And More

Marvel has released a new batch of stills for Thor: Ragnarok which offer up our best look yet at Sakaar (a.k.a. Planet Hulk) and characters like Heimdall, Valkyrie, and Loki in a variety of locations...

Thor: Ragnarok is just a few months away and now a new batch of stills for the threequel have found their way online. We've seen some of these before either watermarked or in low-resolution because they've been scanned from various magazines but there are some great shots here of characters like The Grandmaster and Loki as we go from Asgard to Midgard to Sakaar and beyond into the cosmos.

It's been clear for a while now that Thor: Ragnarok will deliver some trippy visual and the latter location, in particular, is clearly paying homage to the work of Jack Kirby, a legendary comic book artist.

Of course, despite the unique visuals, fans are hoping that the movie is going to deliver in terms of epic action and an Asgardian adventure which does the God of Thunder justice in a way that many fans believe the first two instalments did not. What do you guys think of this new look at the movie?

I have big hopes for this movie. The last two I left the theater feeling like they could've done much better.

This movie looks soooo damn good, i'm actually sad is one of the shortest MCU movies ever.

Should've been one of the longest. :(

@Doomsday8888 - I agree. Either actual Asgard being destroyed will be super short or sakaar will. Shame that hulk can't get a standalone and they had to show horn planet hulk into a Thor movie

@SecretWarrior - The entire plot of the movie revolves around Sakaar, that hardly sounds shoehorned to me. Considering Thor is cosmic, it's probably one of the smartest ideas to to organically pair Hulk and Thor. Shoehorned implies something shouldn't be there or it doesn't make a smooth transition, but Sakaar seems to be the soul of the movie thus far. It's responsible for Hulk's appearance, and greatly responsible for Thor's dramatic change in the film.

@ScarletWarlock - I am not so sure. I think what someone said earlier is right. Sakaar is a detour that leads to Thor getting his team and taking help in the final act. How they transition between the two storylines remains to be seen. Also, by shoehorned I mean that planet hulk should be it's own two hour movie. Not an addition to a Thor movie.

The Thor movies get a bad rap but I still stand by the fact that the 1st one is a legit good movie

@manofillintent1 -

I like the first one, had a good time watching it.
Didn't like the second and is probably my least favourite Marvel movie.

@SimplyAz - the 2nd Thor is low on my list too but people speak of that movie as if it's green lantern bad, The first Thor is one of the more personal marvel movies about Sons and farthers

@manofillintent1 - I liked that the used the destroyer in the first movie, as well as the ice giants. Right out the gate, they were not afraid to pull from the mythology of the character. I do wish hawkeye had an actual meet up with Thor though. Even if it was only him standing guard over Thor while making snarky comments.
