THOR: RAGNAROK Director Taika Waititi Gets Some Marvel Tips From Peyton Reed And James Gunn

Taika Waititi, director of Thor: Ragnarok, solicits some help from Ant-Man director Peyton Reed and GotG, Vol. 2 helmer James Gunn. It's all humorous supposition so don't take any of it to heart.

Thor appears to be in good hands, at least in the humor department.  Fans have griped that the last two standalone Thor films tried too hard to be funny and as a result, there were very few laughs.  Perhaps Taikia will be the director to strike the right balance between comedy and action?

Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters on November 3, 2017.   Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost penned the first draft of the script.  Stephany Folsom was hired to rework their draft.

The cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Tessa Thompson, Mark Ruffalo and Cate Blanchet.  Natalie Portman and Jaimie Alexander are rumored to not be reprising their roles as Jane Foster and Lady Sif.  Filming is expected to begin in June.

@PantherKing - Me to but I think Marvel are learning with each 1 of these movies, now they've got over the difficult sequel phase and a much better idea of what works and what doesn't i've got faith

Mate give us the Thor we've been waiting for. Thor needs to be how he is in the comics.

Taika is very witty and smart, he'll do lots of good for Ragnarok. I'll keep saying this but I think he's the most creative director that they've hired yet.

@ScarletWarlock - Plus he was there to see the making of a bad super hero movie first hand and see the ramifications. This guy isn't going to let it happen again. I believe in him.

@Magus - He has some slightly bad things to say about Green Lantern. He said he wasn't surprised by the end product due to the way people were working on the script and the movie itself. He even tried to help out on one scene and they basically said, "shut up and do your line, Taika". But yeah, he said the experience was miserable. Kind of hilarious when you think about it. An actor from a crappy cosmic superhero movie moves on to direct his OWN cosmic superhero movie, and makes it awesome. I want to say poetic justice but it doesn't quite feel right. Still, this dude's going to rock our world. I can feel it in my blood.
