In the wake of Tom Hiddleston’s first Emmy nomination for The Night Manager miniseries, the English actor spoke with Entertainment Weekly yesterday directly from the Australian set of Thor: Ragnarok. So, naturally he ended up talking about his fourth time portraying the God of Mischief, Loki, and he even teased what these early days of filming consist of.

“It is actually a fight day tomorrow,” Hiddleston told EW when they asked if he’ll be celebrating his nomination or battling Ragnarok co-star Chris Hemsworth on the Marvel shoot. “I don’t think I’m fighting specifically him, however. Spoiler alert! But that’s all I will tell you. I’ve been here for 10 days. We’re really just at the beginning. I think they officially started filming just last week. It’s great. I’m having such a good time. Taika Waititi is brilliant, and his vision for his Thor film is so full of wit and humor and drama. He’s really been so attentive over the screenplay. I’m so excited. It’s a hell of a cast. It’s got quite a lineup.”

About those fight scenes which Tom Hiddleston will be filming today, Loki’s likely opponent is Mark Ruffalo’s Incredible Hulk if not Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, who started shooting a couple days ago. According to Tom, the rest of the ensemble cast have yet to arrive on set.

“There are some heavy hitters in the lineup, and not everyone is here yet,” he said of his co-stars. “It’s Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tessa Thompson, and myself,” he added. “We’ve got some others coming. Thus far, it’s really fun. And also, it’s been three years since I’ve played. I think I last wore the costume at Comic-Con in 2013. It was 2012 when we wrapped The Dark World. It’s just been a long time, and to don the black hair and leather and all of Loki’s stuff is good fun.”

Speaking of Loki’s wig, Hiddleston revealed to an Australian radio station that his mischief-maker’s dark hair will be braided to some capacity this time which is certainly a new look for the supervillain on the big-screen. Furthermore, the actor offered a glimpse of his transformation into Loki during a UNICEF campaign video which he shot from his Ragnarok dressing room. Watch that below, and be on lookout for more goods as filming continues.

Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi, and it stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Karl Urban (Skurge), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), with Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster) and Cate Blanchett (Hela). And Thor: Ragnarok is set to open in theaters on November 3, 2017.
