While AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Might Be The Longest MCU Movie To Date, THOR: RAGNAROK Aims To Be The Shortest
Just yesterday we learned that Avengers: Infinity War will likely be the longest MCU movie released so far and now, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi reveals that his film will be the shortest.
The first Thor film in 2011 had a runtime of 114 minutes. Thor: The Dark World was released two years later and had a runtime of 112 minutes. However, this November's Thor: Ragnarok currently has a runtime of only 100 minutes. That would make it the shortest MCU film to date, 12 minutes shorter than The Incredible Hulk.
The news comes just a day after we reported that Avengers: Infinity War would likely have a runtime that exceeds 150 minutes.
Speaking to Collider, Taika Waititi revealed, "The cut right now, I reckon it’s about 100 minutes. It’s not gonna be a very, very long film. I think that stories are better when you leave them wanting more, and this film moves at a clip, it’s got stuff happening all the time. I think people are still gonna feel exhausted by the end, they’ve been on this big journey and stuff, so I don’t think we need the film to be three hours."
