Breaking Bad. The show that many have declared the greatest prime-time drama, ever. That is a bold statement. But, is it true? The answer to that question will be answered by me in the coming days, and starting with part 1 of my three part review of the series.

SEASON 1-
Season 1 for me is like the first chapter of a really good book. It might feel really slow at times, but once it gets going, holy crap does it get going. The first and second episodes in particular are very good. The disbelief you feel for Walter as he descends into the grimy life his partner is so accustomed to is what people come to see. And the first two episodes display this transformation (albeit, very early) masterfully. his killing of 8-ball, and his partner was particularly difficult to watch, because you, the viewer, know that Walt Isn't a bad guy. Initially. You really feel that all he wants to do is provide for his family, since he knows he is going to be gone soon. And that thought is a haunting one, reinforced by the fact that he could be killed any minute due to his new found lifestyle. And It's damn exciting.

SEASON 2-
Season 2 starts of with a bang. Literally. Walt's drug deal kicks off the first episode of season two and its here that we see his genius and cunning in this field of work. For me, the whole first half of season two is very slow building. it doesn't really start to kick into gear until the episode when Walt and Jesse go out into the desert to cook more meth, which i know is pretty late and it really is just character build, but character build for the rest of the series. Brilliant. From that point on everything about these and characters and their situations just seemed to keep escalating. Which is perfect for this situation. and then we're down to the final two episodes, which at the time were the most intense ones. "Phoenix" was really Walt's final act as Walt. From that moment on he was known as Heisenberg.

End of Part 1. Come back tomorrow for Part 2, and expect part 3 in the next few days.

Comment any thoughts, if you would be so kind.
