The star of AMC's upcoming comic adapted The Walking Dead debuting this October spoke with Digital Spy and revealed some cool tidbits about his role and how shooting drastically changed after a couple days playing just a cop.
Lincoln also mentioned the amazing effects and makeup work that Greg Nicotero's team has been doing every day on set saying,
"Every day I go to work and it's artistry, what's being done," he said on Nicotero's work, "It's funny, because we had two days with Jon Bernthal (fellow cop Shane) and this was pre-apocalypse. It was amazing because it felt like we were doing a cop show. And then suddenly I had that first day where I met my first zombie and I went, 'Oh... this is the show we're in!'" said Lincoln.
Lincoln went on to say that his character for the TV adaptation is spot on with the comic series in that his character undergoes some dramatic changes when he's pushed to the limits in a world without rules.
"He wakes up to find the world has irrevocably changed. His motivational forces are obviously to find his family and discover what has happened to them. And what I've realized in playing him is that he is willing to go to any lengths. He's pushed into a corner and he's fighting his way out." he said.
But what Lincoln said that really makes the most sense to TWD fans all over was this, "Rick is a very centered, serious, practical man," he said, "He's also a simple man. He's got a very good moral center. He's like a moral compass. And what happens is this eroding of his moral center," said Lincoln.
