Talking to TV Guide, David Morrissey has talked briefly about how he is preparing for his villainous turn as The Governor in the third season of The Walking Dead. "I've got the graphic novels but have only read Robert Kirkman's [prequel] Rise of The Governor, which I thought was brilliant. There was so much in that book that I could [use], like the desire for survival above everything else. I'm finding out what his fears, anxieties and loves are so I can make him my own." Those of you who have read the book will surely agree that the actor couldn't have turned to a better piece of source material to prepare. "It's the right show at the right time," he added when asked why he took the job. "My family will be joining me in Atlanta. I've known Andrew Lincoln [Rick] from around London; we have mutual friends. And I get to go to Comic-Con."

... [frick]ing wannabe casting directors above me, there is a reason you don't work in such fields. Danny Trejo... [frick] my life dude.

Very good casting. Morrissey is a brilliant actor.

The thing about fan-casts is they're always so unimaginative.

@DELLAMORTE

FAIL!!! TREJO is a terrible actor. This is a complicated character with LOTS of screen time. Selecting an actor JUST BECAUSE he looks like the character in the graphic novels is a HORRIBLE idea.

i understand your guy's response with the unimaginative responses above, but this guys is SO far the other way, so I kind of see what they're saying. All I know is that if this guys isn't a [frick]ing MARVELOUS actor to support the way off look and feel of the character it is going to be an epic fail. Please let me know if you have seen this guy in something similiar as far as a roll and tell me if he can actually pull this off.

If the actor is great he/she will transform for the role.
Morrissey is a good actor so i think when we finally see him as the Governor everyone are saying that the choice couldnt have been better.
It could end up being totally wrong too. It depends alot from the script and director also.

@dellamorte1872 horrible choice. I preferably wanted John Hawkes, But Kirkman hasn't done a bad job with anything he has done thus far. I don't see him starting now, but Trejo..? LOL

Hawkes would have been cool thou.

When i read the comics i always saw Elias Koteas as the Governor.

This show seems cool, but I can never be able to sit and watch it and Danny Trejo would be one of the perfect matches for "The Governor"

Yes Trejo is brutal and badass but i cant see him playing psychopathic pervert which is The Governor.

Wow, you guys are making his looks out to be WAAAAAAYYYY to big of a deal...he's really not that far off. I found a bunch of comparison pics and with a little hair and makeup, he fits just fine...

So really....what's the big deal. We have a very good actor who can be made to look similar to the comic. Would you rather have a bad actor who looks just like the comic??? That's ridiculous...

@Dellamorte

USING CAPS LOCK DOESN'T MAKE YOUR SUGGESTION SUCK ANY LESS!!!!
