Go Behind The Scenes Of Last's Night's Gruesome Premiere Of THE WALKING DEAD With These New Images

AMC has released a new batch of images from last night's premiere of The Walking Dead, and in them we get a look behind the scenes as Negan deals out his own brutal form of justice to the survivors.

Last night's episode of The Walking Dead saw us say goodbye to both Abraham and Glenn in the most horrifying and brutal way possible. The former was the unlucky victim Negan chose after season six's huge cliffhanger, but Glenn's demise came as a total surprise after a right hook from Daryl led to the villain deciding to further punish the survivors by violently taking out the fan-favourite character.

Now, AMC has released a new batch of images from the premiere (via TV Line) which take us behind the scenes with director Greg Nicotero and the cast. Joining those are some official stills spotlighting some key moments, though you'll be glad that there aren't any shots of poor old Glenn with his eyeball bulging out of his skull after being whacked by Negan's barbed wire covered baseball bat, Lucille.

ok I'm clueless to movie magic. How do they literally hit the guys on the head with the bat? Is it a rubber bat or something?

@GinjaNinja - A few ways they could do it. Foam bat, or no bat at all, and they CGI it into Negan's hands after the fact.

Haven't watched the show passed Season 1, but like watching the gory stuff that happens on the show. This, however, was one fine damn hour of television. Really brutal and with huge consequences for the characters from here on out. Jeffrey Dean Morgan was excellent! A proper villain; evil and ruthless, and scary. Give him an Emmy. If the entire series could have kept this level of intensity I'd probably have stayed on board. This episode made me think of Breaking Bad, a show which made every episode more intense than the last.

I hope they stick Lucille up Negan's ass.

And hey! As someone else said on another threat, don't worry, Glenn will be back from under the dumpster.

I never felt so bad watching any show's episode before. Really disturbing.

I couldn't help but think:
1) If Neegan threw the hatchet out the door, how did it get on the roof?
2) With a hatchet and relatively safe on the roof, why didn't Rick just bust out the windows then flatten the tires and let the walkers have Neegan?
3) how did the hatchet end up so far away from the vehicle when Rick was finally forced down?

I've never seen an episode of this muck, but that's the actor that played Bull in Band of Brothers. He gets a lifetime pass.
