After the 7th episode of season 2 one thing that everybody was hoping to know by now was not answered. I thought for sure by this point we would know what Dr. Jenner of the CDC said to Rick at the end of season 1.

I think it is safe to say its not about Lori's pregnancy anymore. So lets review some of the possibilities. Please note this is not spoilers, strictly rumours from the many fans.

So if it was good news I think Rick would have shared it with the group already. Hope is a powerful motivational tool for a leader of desperate survivors. Bad news is much more likely at this point.

We know that they were planning on heading to Fort Benning. Which rules out Jenner telling him there is no military or government left.

We know it wasn't anything about a cure or lack thereof since he would have shared that with Herschel during their argument on the barn.

So what are some other possibilites?

1. The military is going to use nuclear weapons
2. Rick or someone in the group is immune
3. The walkers can learn or at least show signs of intelligence
4. the virus is man-made and was released by accident
5. Everybody turns when they die
6. The rest of the world is infected too

It will be interesting to finally find out. Hopefully before Season 2 concludes. Whatever it is it better be good. You can leave this unanswered without building it up. If it doesn't deliver I will be dissapointed.

Would like to hear from all of you on what you think? Maybe one of you has a good shocker.

I think he was told that they're all already infected, and that everyone will turn once they die. Only problem with that is, everyone who's read the bboks already knows that. Wouldn't mind something a bit more exciting.

yea. I didn't want to bring up what was in the comics just because that would be more of a spoiler. Like Merc said though I actually hope its something different.

I posted an interview earlier this week that Robert Kirkman did. He does say that we will find out what that little tid-bit was sooner rather than later. I'd thought that it was Lori's pregnancy, but that isn't it obviously. Some good suggestions you have up there, and of those, I'd have to say that the "virus" was man-made. But I have a feeling it is none of the above.

I have been wondering what he said to Rick as well. It could be anything but I hope it isn't something horrible. Maybe he told him a place where they can go that is not affected by the virus.

@ecksmanfan, read that article of yours. good stuff and glad to hear Kirkman hinting we should know soon.

@superbatsipderman, i doubt it is a place to go because Rick would have told the group that already. And also he seemed pretty hell bent on staying at the farm. If there was a safer place I think he wouldn't be so quick to stay there with a barn full of zombies. But I know what your saying. Being an optimist you always hope the news is good...

also the whole everybody turns when they die wouldn't really be a shocker for zombie fans. Given that everybody who watches the genre knows this to be a common concept. I think its going to be something nobody has thought of. Maybe the writers dont even know yet and are waiting for the light bulb to come on before they write it into season 3.

@Nephillim, if its about Lori's pregnancy it would be very anti-climatic at this point. It's possible but I think it would be very disappointing.

@ncreb - yes but kirkman suggested they could have had blunt force trama to the head when they died which wouldn't have reanimated them.

I think its number 5. When you die you come back. If you remember the first episode he starts to tell Morgan on the walkie but then stops. It has to be something not dire enough to tell Morgan on the walkie. Rick probably figures that fact isn't earth shattering enough and Morgan probably already knows it.

Maybe it's a variation on the comics... It could be that not all of the living are infected... Maybe certain people are "carriers" and turn when they die naturally... That would help explain 2 things... how the plague spread so fast to begin with... and why there were dead bodies in the car on the freeway in the Season 2 opener. Some are already infected. Some are not.

1. that fort benning's gone (because as soon as rick found an alternate place, the farm, he was all about it). 2. his baby is going to be born a zombie.

@Dickel, if everyone turns when they die, but a bullet to the head takes out a zombie.......... he would kill himself with a bullet to the head!

How could it be that when everyone dies they turn. That highway was full of dead people in the cars and they did not turn.
Also tde guy that hung himself in the woods legs were chewed off. If he had died and become a walker the Walkers would not have chewed off his legs. They don't eat each other.

My personal thought is that the secret was that it was manmade. That we did this to ourselves.
