Honestly though this looks great, I'm getting very excited, something I haven't been for Doctor Who in a while.

As long as she is good, the writing improves, they dont treat the character any differently than they have for the past 50+ years, and they dont force some feminist message then Im sure the series will be great.
Wonder Woman barely drew attention to the fact that she was a woman, she was treated with just as much respect as Steve, and she never looked down on other characters for being men. Use that movie as an example of how female led movies should be handled

Cool to have her in the role. I'm somewhat interested in watching her debut season, but I still haven't even really started with Capaldi's 12th Doctor. Hm.

From the leaked clip it felt a lot like she was just trying to emulate Matt Smith's moments of quick bursts of dialogue with a script that combined aspects of 'The Eleventh Hour' (The Doctors interaction with Amy and Rory) with the more comedic aspects of David Tennant's first few moments as the Doctor.

It is too early to judge her character and given her acting is emulating Matt Smith it's difficult to really get a sense for how well adapted she is in the role. It gives all the familiar signs of a fairly generic introduction episode akin to The Eleventh Hour' where the new actor/actress playing the character emulates the previous one to try and ensure fans do not turn off.

Normally this transitions over the course of the first three episodes and we normally have a finalised idea of what the new version of the Doctor is meant to be by the middle of the season.

Did not really get a sense of what they plan to do with her Doctor so still undecided on that. Feels kind of like they are trying to appeal to those who were still watching during the Matt Smith Era - arguably they still consider this period a success rather than the start of the decline in viewership, quality of writing and ratings.
