Greetings reader and thank you for clicking and reading my new editorial, in this article I the "Excellence of Editorials" DCGuy will explain in the simplest of ways how the hit TV show GOTHAM is probably the best thing about the Batman lore to come out in recent years.

So here we are, you have probably heard of the little FOX show which has recently started it's season 2, many on CBM.com have done nothing but complain, bitch and moan about Gotham and how its so bad for the Batman mythology with all of its liberties it takes with the source material and characters, the nay sayers rush to poop there doritos locos tacos feces all over the Batman show without batman faster than Josh rushing to a matches and ligthers sale, but hey it is ok with me, recently I have been lucky enough to gather some time and finish the first season of Gotham, the show started off ok in my opinion as I saw the first 8 to 10 episodes before I had to go join the military, now in my down time i have noticed that the show is beyond good, its GREAT. WHY? you ask as you huff and puff at the screen while picking up your pitchfork. easy, I shall explain.

GOTHAM highlights the reason of batmans continued existance in Gotham city, let us visit the source, Bruce wayne as we all know sees his parents killed infront of him, age and other factors vary on comic but one thing for sure the loss of his mom and pop is the sparking light that begins the fire in the young boys soul to BECOME BATMAN, but what GOTHAM gives us is something NO comic has ever given us, the REASON why BATMAN CONTINUES and that is how GOTHAM is making it mark, I wish for you to look up all the Bruce and ALFRED moments in the season, some will make you laugh, some cry, some think but all them show how Bruce grows to love Alfred like the father he lost and beyond, I believe that Alfred is the main tool for motivation Batman uses in his life BEFORE his Bat Family arrives.

Now there we have a valid point, Alfred has always been glue holding the Bat to the man, we see it in comics, games and more, but we never see the deserving amount of credit to Alfred, but I also mentioned the BAT FAMILY and before you go off and think of all the usual suspects like Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and the rest pictured below.

I want you to think to the first person outside of Alfred BATMAN trusts and that is JAMES GORDON the first member of the Bat family the ally on the streets for Batman, the only cop he trust and as the years go by we see him get more and more deep into the Batman mythos, now even being the bat, so before you even complain about the ages, the premise, the characters and the absurd reasons you claim Gotham does not work for you, think about the things that help the Batman mythos as a whole, think about the man under the mask and his future allies are the ones that stand by his side now.

I conclude with this as to why I love Gotham and encourage you to look at it as what it is, the story of Batman allies and how they build the city for the hero we will need and make the man we deserve, the villains may rise but they only create a shadow for the Batman to emerge from. That my readers is GOTHAM.

I agree, I think the show is really good. The lead actors are great and have awesome chemistry, Bullock is easily my fave part of the show.

@DCGuy; What part of the World are you from? When I read this, in my head I read it in a a Russian or Chzech accent. I actually pictured the crazy, but loveable, Russian guy from SLC Punk reading it to me.

That being said, I've never been a huge Bats fan. I'm a Marvel guy(specifically X-Men, but I've read most others), but definitely NOT a Marvel guy that disrespects, or even dislikes DC.... Anyways. To the point. Your article, at first, reads like a jumbled mess from an incoherent drunkard. Then I used my Naturally Born super power of Empathy to translate the EMOTION of what you're conveying, and I found myself intrigued. I FEEL you Brother.

There's no logical explanation why, but this article makes me want to give Gotham another chance. As inarticulate as you were with your words, your Passion was obvious, and it piqued me. Do me a favor. I've been trying to come up with the best possible Editorial for why Avengers:AoU is the BEST MCU movie to date, but I haven't been able to articulate my thoughts into the proper words to express it to the people on this site, with the surety that they're going to actually hear me out before they pass judgement. Plus I've yet to make an ED, so I don't have the benefit of the criticisms.... Anyways(again. Sorry. I'm getting to the point), I promise to watch all episodes of Gotham available to me, with a completely open mind, if you promise to suspend everything everyone, on this site, has said about AoU, and watch it with a completely open mind, in context with the rest of the MCU, and PM me your genuinely independent review of the movie. Deal?

GOTHAM is probably the best thing about the Batman lore to come out in recent years.

Better then the Arkham games, Beware the Batman, the Nolan Trilogy, Batman Brave and the Bold, Snyder/Capullo's Batman run, Johns/Frank's Batman Earth One books?

[frick]ing no.

Better then the shitty animated films focusing on Damian and the shitty JL films those are tied too?

Yea I'll give Gotham that.

@PesciGotPepsi the movies did batman good and some of his side characters but I am talking about the lore the entire mythos and Gotham has expanded way more than the movies and games on the reasons as to why GOTHAM needs Bats

@Levitikuz same thing as above and the animated movies are a different universe and a different Batman but again those movies are showing a lot of people a different part of Bats universe because I doubt we get to see Damian, Nightwing, Batwoman, Batwing and the JL and Teen titans share a universe or world in the big screen or tv screen anytime soon.

@Frozenmarvelite dnt be dumb of course I have I own them all but still same as above. and im not a racist i made a racist joke and people like merc are still asshurt about it LOL

your opinion is factually incorrect. gotham is a very bad show and is also one of the worst things to happen to batman in recent history.
