Before there was Batman, there was GOTHAM. Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world’s greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon’s story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world’s most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker? GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told.

Starring Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, Robin Lord Taylor, Sean Pertwee, Zabryna Guevara, Erin Richards, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova, David Zayas, and Jada Pinkett Smith, Gotham will premiere on FOX on September 22nd. Are you guys looking forward to the show's debut?

Y..e..a..h.... not feelin' it.

You've got to earn the Batman qudos as Rocksteady have done, as such I will be giving this benefit of doubt and seeing if it grabs me - but just sticking this in the Batman universe as a solid-gold guarantee of quality?.... not assured!. No amount of up-front publicity will change my mind.

Gotham and its colorful inhabitants work because of the way they play off of Batman.

By removing him, there's a giant hole at the center of the show.

It's so annoying how everything needs an "origins" nowadays. I miss the days when quality films or TV shows didn't feel the need to tell you why a character was so cool or important with bloated storytelling, they just made good characters.

Looks dull to be honest, have no interest in the origin of a theif (Catwoman), a theif (Joker), a spoilt brat (Penguin) a politician (Two-Face) and a suck-up workaholic (Riddler)

The only good things about those characters was what pushed them over the edge and what they became, a lot of them share the same origins being petty theives and even if they alter the origins to make it more interesting that is still admitting that people would'nt be interested in their true origins.

The Joker for example on his own is boring, he only works because of his joking dynamic with Batman and the moral choices that he inflicts on Batman - hence the 'killing joke'

Hopefully they dont try putting this in a DCU TV Universe with Arrow... recently started watching that show and i feel that attempting to crossover it would end badly.

*I’ll admit, I don’t watch much TV. My viewing habits consist of mostly sports, New Girl, and the occasional Saturday Night Live episode. But when I heard that FOX was coming out with a Batman prequel called Gotham, I was intrigued. After watching the pilot episode I’m hooked, and can’t wait to see where the series takes these characters.

Why is Penguin rocking The Riddler's colors? It makes it even worse that he is standing right next to him.
