CW Working On Yet Another DC Comics Adaptation; iZOMBIE Heading To The Small Screen

Deadline have revealed that Rob Thomas (who is currently hard at work on the fan-funded Veronica Mars movie) will be reuniting with that movie's co-writer Diane Ruggiero for a small screen adaptation of iZOMBIE on the CW. Based on the 28 issue comic book series by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred and published though DC's Vertigo imprint, it's "a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories, and with the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head." iZOMBIE joins Arrow, The Flash and Hourman at the CW, while Constantine is headed to NBC and Gotham is on the way to Fox. Are you guys excited about this new series?

Aren't there other characters that would do better on the small screen or is it because of the popularity of TWD?

I'm so happy about the Marvel Netflix news but I have one serious question to people like Panther X:

What, in recent memory, has Marvel TV done that makes you all confident these shows will be good?

Arrow's success? Please. There have always been comic-based shows on network television.

You forgot about The Avenger also.

@thewonderer

That's a good question. Granted Marvel's track rate hasn't been stellar recently. That being said, it is exciting that these properties are being given a chance on Netflix which will allow an arguably more mature take on the characters.

This is a big, big deal for Marvel. I won't be surprised if they learn from their mistakes on Shield to create something really exciting.

iZombie MUST BE A PART OF THE DCCU!!! !!! !!! I must bear witness to the epic interaction between her and, let's say, Dick Grayson. Lol.

Granted Marvel's TELEVISION track rate hasn't been stellar recently.

Whoops, that's an important distinction.

"...the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories..."

So, they're making a series of "Warm Bodies"?

@ BlackJack

I agree with you, but there is a news article that it is still on the table for consideration. I am pretty confident that we will not have a WW show since she will be in on the big screen.

What I would like is a Sandman or Sand live action show!!!!!!!
