iZOMBIE Promotes PRISON BREAK Star Robert Knepper To Series Regular; New Season Four Details Revealed

In a shocking twist, the end of season three saw Discovery Day arrive prematurely as Liv and her undead kin were exposed to the rest of the world and based on the iZombie panel at San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, it sounds like next season will pick up shortly thereafter as Team Z deals with the fallout from the big reveal.
Showrunner Rob Thomas first revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the new season will pick up approximately three months after the end of season three and teased an unideal situation for the zombie-run New Seattle. "It’s like zombies and humans living together in West Berlin in the middle of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Because, in the three months between the end of season 3 and season 4 begins, the U.S. government is going to wall off Seattle so it’s going to have that Berlin feeling. It sort of turns Seattle into this independent quasi-nuclear power: If zombies go flooding out of Seattle, they have the power to end the world, essentially."
Speaking on Liv's mindset moving forward, Rose McIver, without giving anything away, revealed, “At least she has this community of people around her who know and support her. … It’s going to be interesting what side of the fence she falls on. Her position on the whole thing will find a new identity for her throughout the season.” This new identity will apparently put her on a collision course with one of her closest friends: Major, who has fully embraced his position at Fillmore Graves. Thomas adds that while some part of their relationship will remain the same (i.e. jokey and fun), their new positions on opposite sides of the spectrum will put them at odds more often than not throughout the course of the season.
As for Ravi, who was last seen being turned by Liv in order to test his zombie cure, Thomas assures fans that they'll learn of his fate pretty early on in the season premiere and it doesn't sound like everything went according to plan. "Yes, there are going to be side effects. You will see those in episode 401. We will not make you wait. You will see them right away."
A premiere date wasn't announced, but expect the series to return early 2018.
Plus, in a pre-recorded video message, Prison Break star Robert Knepper, who plays Blaine's father Angus, announced his promotion to series regular status for the upcoming fourth season and promptly vowed revenge on his son. Check out the video below:
