Not even a day after co-creator Rob Thomas expressed his confidence that iZombie would return for more adventures next year, the network has officially picked up the critically-acclaimed Rose McIver-led series for a fourth season.

In the recent interview, Thomas revealed that he'd cut a major reveal from the upcoming season three finale and then teased a few non-spoilery tidbits about the then-hypothetical season 4. "The season 3 finale is a pretty major reset of the show, so I feel like if I said anything about season 4, I would be giving away the cool stuff that we want to surprise people with in the finale of season 3.” He continued on a bit further to hint that Ravi's zombie cure may not be exactly the answer Team Z has been seeking. "If there is ever a cure where things go well, it seems like the show will be over, I don’t think we could cure Liv Moore until we’re ready to do our final episode.

In other CW news, The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals has also been renewed for a fifth season.

Will Seattle become the capital of the zombie homeland? In season three, Liv has discovered there are more zombies living in Seattle than she previously believed, including a private military contractor employing a zombie army that is preparing for the day humans learn of their existence. Major finds acceptance in this army, and Liv and Clive investigate the murder of a zombie family that may set off an all-out zombie-human war. Ravi’s former boss at the Center for Disease Control shows up in Seattle to investigate the Max Rager massacre. Blaine finds living as a human with no memory of his evil past is more blessing than curse. Peyton pulls at a thread in one of her cases that may lead to the villain that’s pulling all the strings. This action-packed season will see Liv take on the traits of a dominatrix, a JACKASS-style stunt man, an office gossip, a pre-school teacher, a conspiracy theorist, a dungeon master, and more.

iZombie features:
Rose McIver as Olivia "Liv" Moore
Malcolm Goodwin as Clive
Babinaux
Rahul Kohli as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti

Haven't watched a single episode of S3 so far, currently in S2 rewatching the show with the girlfriend. But I'm really glad to hear this, because the show rocks! When S1 started out I was rather I wouldn't like it, but by now it's the only longer running CBTV show besides AoS that I'll watch everything of.
