New POWERLESS Promo Takes Us To Wayne Security And Reveals A Very Different Type Of Show

Powerless has become a totally different TV show since that first trailer leaked online last year, as the promo below makes it clear that we're no longer getting a workplace comedy similar to The Office (which just so happens to be set in a world of superheroes). Instead, it looks like a much wackier comedy as the claim adjusters now spend their time creating inventions to help protect regular folk.

Among the changes is a move to Wayne Security, while a new character has also been added as you can see on the poster below. It looks like NBC has totally reshot the pilot shown to fans at last year's San Diego Comic-Con, and that could be because it was met with a fairly tepid response. Whether or not this fairly drastic change in approach will work remains to be seen, but it looks pretty good so far.

What do you guys think about Powerless so far? Let us know that in the comments section below.

Huge DC fan, but couldn't be less interested in this premise. Actors look good, but wacky comedy is too great a swing in the other direction for the WB pendulum.

@DAGuess - I disagree.....have you watched Teen Titans Go? Now before you shout out that is a kids show.........that show really has some adult humor and DC really takes some cheap shots at themselves.

@JoeMomma29 - My feeble brain is more willing to accept adult humor in a show geared towards children than something like this. And I have no faith in NBC. It's like they try to cancel shows. Hellblazer should have been awesome with all the material they had to work with, but NBC never gave the show a chance.

@JoeMomma29 - And I haven't watch Teen Titans Go because I'm still butthurt over the cancellation of Green Lantern and Young Justice. Super psyched about the 3rd season on Netflix though.

@DAGuess - Now I will agree with you regarding NBC....keep in mind this show is not being produced from people from NBC.

That being said it would not shock me for NBC to give up on this show like they did with Constantine. In regards to Constantine, NBC really thought the viewers for Grim would automatically gravitate to Constantine.

When I babysit your kids, I try to give them shots of NyQuil.

Besides, if they were serious about a DC comedy, why not go with Plastic Man, Booster Gold, etc. instead of this out of left field concept?

Another superhero show without the superhero, when are they going to learn?

Danny Pudi rocks though.

Nope. Sorry, it still looks terrible, which is too bad because the cast is great.

Its like Better of Ted set in a superhero filled world, I'm more interested in this than the previous premise
