POWERLESS: Natalie Morales Guest Stars As Green Fury In New Stills from Season 1, Episode 8: "Green Furious"

After Crimson Fox took her talents out of town, tomorrow night, Emily and the Wayne Security crew will usher in a new DC Comics heroine: Green Fury, who you might know as Beatriz da Costa, a.k.a. Fire!

You may have caught your first look at Natalie Morales as DC Comics superheroine Green Fury in last week's "Van v Emily: Dawn of Justice" episode, but due to NBC apparently airing episodes out of their production order, it will actually be tomorrow night's episode that will shine a spotlight on her recent arrival in Charm City.

In the comics, Green Fury is an alias of Beatriz de Costa, who is typically associated with the name Fire. It's uncertain whether the comedy series will utilize her secret identity, but it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility as it looks like she may befriend both Emily and maybe Teddy by episode's end.

Check out new promotional stills from episode eight, titled "Green Furious," below:

"GREEN FURIOUS"

04/20/2017 (08:30PM - 09:00PM) (Thursday)

EMILY USES A SECRET WEAPON TO IMPRESS THE BOARD - NATALIE MORALES GUEST STARS - Emily (Vanessa Hudgens) takes a stand in her first board meeting and must deliver on a big idea with the help of superheroine Green Fury (guest star Natalie Morales). Meanwhile, Teddy (Danny Pudi) tries to find a way to get Green Fury's attention. Elsewhere, Jackie (Christina Kirk) brings her daughter to work but starts to get worried when she bonds with Wendy (Jennie Pierson).

In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.

Powerless features:
Vanessa Hudgens as Emily Locke
Danny Pudi as Teddy
Alan Tudyk as Van Wayne
Christina Kirk as Jackie
Ron Funches as Ron

Powerless returns with an all-new episode April 13

I was wondering what I had missed. Last week's episode felt like an odd introduction to her character .. this makes perfect sense.

Didn't NBC do this with Community at one point? Airing a few episodes out of order? I can't remember now

@bigdannymac - I don't think they did that with Community... maybe some of Season 4, but it was so disjointed and weird that it would be hard to notice.

But that's never a good sign for a show. Airing out of order is almost as bad as when they dump multiple episodes back-to-back to fill time.

@Spock0Clock - Not totally true ..

30 Rock took up back to back spots at times. They also did the same thing for Parks and Rec. They are now doing that for Trial and Error - which is freaking hilarious by the way.

I don't mind the back to back stuff if the show is good enough to warrant it.

I loved Community and hope they get around to that movie. Yahoo wanted the movie done asap but Dan wants to wait until he has a good enough story. All the actors are on board.

Totally off-topic, but I've been watching the second season of Better Off Ted on Netflix and if Feige and RDJ do retire Tony Stark out of the MCU, I'm thinking it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if they did some version of an Arno Stark storyline. (None of the dumb alien DNA/adopted kid stuff, but just as a secret younger brother kind of thing.)

And if they did that, Jay Harrington would be an awesome Arno Stark.

I'm thinking it breaks down like this: the original Howard Stark (played by Dominic Cooper) retreated from public life either because he went nuts or was worried about some threat to him and his family. SHIELD stepped in, providing a body double / bodyguard (played by John Slattery) that, by the time Tony was old enough to have any memory of his father, Cooper had either died or bailed, and Slattery (at Maria Stark's insistence) raised him as his own.

So then, in some future movie, it's revealed that Howard (Cooper) had a second son before his death: Arno. And he inherits the mantle of Iron Man (coincidentally just in time for 2020, since that was the comic timeline that Arno came from).

I'm not sure I'd want him front-and-center the way RDJ is, but he'd be a damn good second-stringer for Avengers films and neatly sidesteps the question of recasting (PLEASE NO), rebooting (not anytime soon), or just leaving one of the most reliable box office properties in 21st century cinema (namely Iron Man) vacant, which Disney executives will not want to do.

Just a thought.

@Spock0Clock - Nobody cares about your fan fiction/cast. This is also totally off topic and doesn't belong in this comments section under the new rules.

@BackwardGalaxy - Well, maybe not as completely off-topic as I had thought. Everytime I see Powerless, it just reminds me of how pale an imitation it is of Better Off Ted (starring Harrington), so it was mostly just a free-association that made me write about it here. (Similar, I'm sure to how Danny Pudi's presence elicited the earlier Community comment.)

But, all the same, I'm sorry for having wasted your oh so valuable time. :)
