POWERLESS Officially Gets The Axe From NBC; Still Uncertain Whether Remaining Episodes Will Air

After being pulled from their schedule a few weeks back, NBC has now officially cancelled their Vanessa Hudgens-led DC comedy series, Powerless, after just one season. Come get the details.

There were high hopes for Powerless when it first premiered to a warm reception at San Diego Comic-Con last summer, but everything pretty much went downhill from there as it lost its showrunner a month later and was then retooled into a much more light-hearted workplace comedy set at Wayne Security rather than the initial edgier take that was set at an insurance company.

After unspectacular ratings in its poorly scheduled freshman season, NBC pulled the Vanessa Hudgens-led project from their schedule late last month and yesterday, finally made the decision to officially cancel the struggling series.

At the time of cancellation, there were still three unaired episodes, including an installment with a guest spot from TV's Batman, Adam West. There hasn't been any word on whether or not those episodes will ever air, but considering they have been completed, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume they could be additions to the home video release and/or possibly join the network's summer programming schedule.

So, what do you guys think? Will you miss the show? Sound off with your thoughts below!

In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.

Powerless features:
Vanessa Hudgens as Emily Locke
Danny Pudi as Teddy
Alan Tudyk as Van Wayne
Christina Kirk as Jackie
Ron Funches as Ron
