The first official teaser trailer for
Stargirl debuted on Crisis: Aftermath following tonight's penultimate episode of
Crisis on Infinite Earths, giving us our first glimpse of Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) wielding the Cosmic Staff in full costume.
The promo begins with the demise of JSA Member Starman (Joel McHale), who passes the staff onto his sidekick Pat Dugan, aka Stripesy (Luke Wilson), for safekeeping. We then see high-schooler Courtney Whitmore relocating from Los Angeles to Blue Valley, Nebraska with her mother and new step-father, who turns out to be... you guessed it!
It's not long before curiosity gets the better of Courtney and she picks up the staff, taking on the mantle of
Stargirl in the process.
The show also stars Henry Thomas as Golden Age Dr. Mid-Nite, Lou Ferrigno Jr. as Golden Age Hourman, Amy Smart as Courtney’s mom Barbara, Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman, Nelson Lee as Dragon King.
Stargirl is expected to premiere in the second quarter of 2020, and will air on both The CW and the DC Universe streaming service.
