The first official teaser trailer for Stargirl debuted on Crisis: Aftermath following tonight's penultimate episode of Crisis on Infinite Earths, giving us our first glimpse of Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) wielding the Cosmic Staff in full costume.

The promo begins with the demise of JSA Member Starman (Joel McHale), who passes the staff onto his sidekick Pat Dugan, aka Stripesy (Luke Wilson), for safekeeping. We then see high-schooler Courtney Whitmore relocating from Los Angeles to Blue Valley, Nebraska with her mother and new step-father, who turns out to be... you guessed it!

It's not long before curiosity gets the better of Courtney and she picks up the staff, taking on the mantle of Stargirl in the process.

The show also stars Henry Thomas as Golden Age Dr. Mid-Nite, Lou Ferrigno Jr. as Golden Age Hourman, Amy Smart as Courtney’s mom Barbara, Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman, Nelson Lee as Dragon King.

Stargirl is expected to premiere in the second quarter of 2020, and will air on both The CW and the DC Universe streaming service.

Decent trailer actually, will check the show out. Wonder which Earth this will take place on.

Also, tonight was not the penultimate episode of Crisis. There are still 2 episodes left... penultimate night, yes.

It's a bit surreal to see this network collaboration between The CW and DC Universe. It makes you wonder if down the road they will do what they do tonight with Black Lightning in Crisis.

Good trailer, I like the energy the show has so far.

@BlackBeltJones - Well some characters should have goofier tones, not every character can be batman

@dracula - I have no problem with the character. Like her in the comics. And a goofy tone is cool. No disrespect to Stargirl.

Something about this is a little too corny for my taste. I liked The Tick. It was goofy some right. Just hit me well.

Man, poor Luke Wilson...

Anyway, have people seen this? Apparently Trump’s re-election campaign actually *wants* us to think of him as Thanos...

Now I'm really intrigued.

I actually met Joel McHale by chance last year. Wished him luck on this show.

The older Luke Wilson gets the more he looks like Quagmire.

I mean... Even knowing it was Stargirl, this isn't what I expected with the cast they were rounding out.

I'll definitely be watching. Joel McHale and Luke Wilson? Heck yeah. But I gotta be honest I've never been big on the whole Stargirl/Starman thing. Maybe this show will change that.

Looks okay. I'm all for anything CW over DC Universe at this point because at least it means that "[frick]" and other curse words won't be forced into every sentence coming out of the characters' mouths.

Heeell yeeeeaaah!
Very curious to see this, since Geoff is the showrunner.
Couldn't care less for a producer like Berlanti.
Gimme my JSA, yo!!!

NOPE, that's a huge hard pass for me! Looks cheap and lame (like most DC series)... I have spoken 😅

@tmp3 - Yes, that's true! I have not seen it yet but I've heard great things about it. Forgot it was DC. Sorry, and thanks!

Wow this is a lot cheesier than I thought it'd be. I figured with Joel McHale and Luke Wilson there'd be some levity. This writing is a bit cringey but overall I see the potential. Hope she crosses over with the other Arrowverse characters.

Definitely looks more expensive than the regular CW shows.
