STARGIRL & The JSA Find Eclipso In The New Promo For Season 2, Episode 5; "Summer School: Chapter Five"

Next week on Stargirl, Courtney and the new J.S.A. find themselves in for quite the night of terror when they land in Eclipso's crosshairs. Meanwhile, Cindy tries to land another key recruit.

Following another jaw-dropping twist, next week's Stargirl will continue to up the ante as it looks like we'll finally see Courtney (Brec Bassinger) and the new J.S.A. come face-to-face with Eclipso (Nick E. Tarabay) and Cindy (Meg DeLacy).

As for that aforementioned twist, it appears as though another original member of the JSA is set to return, as the closing moments revealed that, like Sylvester Pemberton (Joel McHale), Charles McNider (Henry Thomas) is also very much alive, but lost in what appeared to be one of The Shade's (Jonathan Cake) shadows.

Plus, get ready for a lot more Sportsmaster and Tigress as Deadline reports that the series has promoted both Neil Hopkins (Lawrence “Crusher” Crock) and Joy Osmanski (Paula Brooks) to series regulars for the already announced Season 3. It's unclear what role the duo will play, but based on the events of the last episode, they may not necessarily be villains moving forward.

So Doctor Midnight is still alive, cool. Wonder if time moves differently in the shadow realm and how is he still alive after 10 years there. Also if Shade is no longer evil, why keep him there.

Despite not having an actual form right now, Eclipso is turning out to be a pretty cool villain.

This week's episode didn't have much JSA action but I liked that they chose to focus on fleshing out Crusher and Paula outside of being former ISA members to the point that by the end of episode you feel bad for them. They are bad guys but they are also not monsters like Brainwave or Icicle, they actually are responsible parents that care about their daughter's life.

Throughout the whole episode Artemis is brooding and angry about her situation because her parents are in jail but when she notices them rooting, disguised, at the seats for her rugby trials it is the only moment in the episode in which she genuinely smiles and is actually happy. So with that said plus the announcement that Sportsmaster and Tigress will stick around in S3 as regulars I agree they may not stay as villains.

Cindy might be under Eclipso's influence at some points but she is doing all of this on her own free will going by how she approached Isaac and sabotaged Artemis' trials just to try getting her on her team later. So this whole situation puts Crusher and Paula as the good parents (and "heroes") despite being criminals and establishes as well Cindy as the "villain" and bad company that no parent wants around their childs. I can see them returning to help Artemis break out from anything Eclipso tries to do to her.

I was expecting also to see some of Mike after Thunderbolt left him for Jakeem but I suppose that is coming later.

Rick's gonna have to open up soon about his "dog".

The Shade is a begrudgingly ally to Courtney and the JSA against Eclipso but he is also not really revealing what he came for Blue Valley in the first place before he realized that Eclipso was released. Same goes for Pat and Barbara, the former who seems to have told everything about the demon and is not sharing it all with the team.

Doctor Mid-Nite is alive in the Shadowlands, no idea how they are planning to get to him. First Shade has to come clean on why he didn't kill him back 10 years ago.

This coming episode looks to be a game-changer. And I hope that Cameron does not turn that easily and quickly to Cindy's side because I'm lowkey rotting for him. (And Court)

If he's the one she is trying now to recruit, what could go "wrong"?

Also I just checked in right now about something I forgot to mention: what does that archeologist character Bruce Gordon have to do with the Eclipso mystery and, duh, it only took a quick search to figure it out. XD

But I wonder if they'll find a way to spin this as well.
