The CW has released a full batch of promotional images for next week's episode of Supergirl, and they are quite revealing indeed. Not only do they give us another glimpse of Mehcad Brooks decked out as The Guardian (wasn't the costume white originally?), but they also feature William Mapother (LOST) as a character named Dr. Rudy Jones, who DC fans will recognize as the alter-ego of the villainous Parasite.

You can see a few more pics over at Kryptonsite.com.

A dumb idea for a show that's been so much better with the lack of Jimmy and Cat.

This character shares nothing in common with Jimmy Olsen. I love this show. I just don't understand why Jimmy Olsen needed to be "modernized."

@InfinitePunches -

I just don't understand why Jimmy Olsen is Guardian & not Jim Harper.

That's the same thing in Flash, they got Jason Rusch but they ended up with Jax for Firestorm.

@2013venjix - tbh maybe the actor for Jason Rusch didn't want to come back or he wasn't strong enough in the role. It could also have been the actor for Jax didn't fit the Rusch personality, but he was a more interesting dynamic than Rusch so they had to make a new character. There are plenty of reasons why Jax had to be created but James Olsen as the Guardian is pretty stupid.

@KelvTwelve - Then they shouldn't add Jason in the show period. It would save them the hassle both actor and producer.

@2013venjix - what hassle? You act like internet boards affect their lives.

@2013venjix - The likelihood is that they originally casted him into the show with the full expectation of making him the next heir to Firestorm but he eventually realized that he either didn't want to do it or couldn't due to scheduling conflicts. Stuff like this happens all the time in the industry.
