LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Return Date Set; Will Share The Monday Time Slot With SUPERGIRL In 2018

In a surprising move, The CW has announced that in 2018, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow will share a time slot, meaning we'll be getting 23 consecutive weeks of original episodes of DC TV. Check it out!

Well, we have some good news and some bad news.

First up, the good news is that The CW has announced today that DC's Legends of Tomorrow will return on February 12, just four weeks after the rest of its sister shows. However, the bad news is that its return will mean a two-month hiatus for the Melissa Benoist-led Supergirl as the Legends will take over the 8 p.m. Monday night time slot for nine straight weeks until its third season finale on April 9. The Girl of Steel will then return to her original timeslot on April 16 and will run uninterrupted until its third season finale on June 18.

While this news is certainly disappointing for fans, there is a silver lining as this decision means we'll be getting twenty-three consecutive weeks of original episodes from Greg Berlanti's DC TV universe.

Check out the official press release below:

Still need to watch the big crossover. Someday...

@Kyos - It was awesome. Honestly. I don't watch The Flash, b/c I find most of the writing trite. I don't watch Arrow, b/c the acting and storylines are truly terrible imo. And Legends always feels like it's a kiddie show trying to be all adult and stuff.

But the CRISIS x-over? W/a few glitches aside here and there, it hit it out of the park. They even gave important arcs to several major characters.

why not just air Legends at 9 PM, why do they have to switch back and forth

@dracula - I explain above. It's about ratings and viewership. The two shows must be underperforming. But both have a strong following...just not a big enough one.

I had jumped into the Legends season that's on now with the last episode (having seen the crossover as well) and by God it was fun. "Beebo God of War" for as silly the premise was was awesome and a great send off to both Stine and Jax.

@MrCamw1 - Question: Why is Stein now called "Grey" on Legends? I thought it was some sort of nickname at first, but by the end of the Crisis x-over, it seemed clear it was his actual name. (I figure, since you watch, you might know.) =]

@Phlegmbot - His name is still Stein. I think they put emphasis on Jefferson only calling him Grey to show that they had a uniquely close relationship, so that viewers would understand his loss.

@AlternateNo4 - Thanks. I had *thought* it was a nickname, but at his funeral, I thought they revealed his name as Something Gray. But maybe I'm mistaken.

Is this their way of easing us into Legends being cancelled? If so, [frick] you CW. Legends is one of your best shows.
