SUPERGIRL: Julie Gonzalo Debuts As Acrata In New Photos From Season 5, Episode 2: "Stranger Beside Me"

The CW has released new images from the upcoming second episode of Supergirl season five, and they feature a first look at Julie Gonzalo (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) as Andrea Rojas, who DC Comics fans will recognize as the alter-ego of Acrata.

While not much is known about her yet, the initial character bio did describe her as "a polished businesswoman and heir to a Central American tech empire" who "is now making a hostile advance into the world of media. Unapologetic and unafraid to make waves, she also holds a mystical secret."

Considering CatCo is expected to reveal its new owner in the season premiere, it seems increasingly likely Rojas will be Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and Jimmy Olsen's (Mehcad Brooks) new boss moving forward, as Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) looks to distance herself from her former friends after the revelations in last season's finale.

"Stranger Beside Me" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

TECHNOLOGY BECOMES THE NEW THREAT- Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Alex (Chyler Leigh), and Brainiac (Jesse Rath) thwart an alien attack while William (Staz Nair) investigates Kara (Melissa Benoist). J'onn J'onzz (David Harewood) and Kelly (Azie Tesfai) use Obsidian tech to solve a problem. David McWhirter directed the episode written by Dana Horgan & Katie Rose Rogers (#502). Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen/Guardian
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers
Jeremy Jordan as Winslow 'Winn' Schott
David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor
Jesse Rath as Querl Dox/Brainiac 5
Sam Witwer as Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty
Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer
April Parker Jones as Colonel Haley

If it actually turns out that Andrea/Acrata (who knows if they will keep that codename here, they are doing a whole new take on her just like how they handled Lockwood who was a hero in the comics) works for Leviathan I am gonna roll my eyes at how dumb was Lena once again to be taken for a fool by yet another big bad and gave her control of CatCO because, wow, Jesus. ._.

She looks so happy working in whatever it is there. Must be tech related because that is her new philosophy, tech good > people bad. Seeing how Andrea is just casually in there with her, in her lab, does raise some possible flags.

Looks like J'onn is starting to feel Malefic's mind fracks.

Where is Nia? I was also expecting pictures of Staz Nair's William character.

Overall still excited to see the new episodes.
